  1. Where is your historical evidence to back up your claim? - please provide details of how many of the foreign newcomers to the second tier achieve an average of 7 in their first Season. The reality is that for both Scottish based clubs to attract promising English riders, who generally prefer to race for English CL teams, they require to offer a better financial package. Hence why Edinburgh in particular, try to recruit promising overseas riders within their budget. It may have escaped your notice that Monarchs remained loyal to Englishman Max Clegg whose final GSA in 2015 was 3.48 and only increased to 4.15 after three Seasons. The prerogative of any Promotion is to try to sign riders whom they consider will form part of a competitive team, irrespective of nationality. It would appear Monarchs were the only Promotion willing to sign Englishman Matt Williamson for 2018, so instead of frequently whining on the Edinburgh topic about teams, such as us, signing promising overseas riders, try and be more objective and take account of the geographical difficulties that some clubs encounter with regard to rider recruitment.
  2. Based on Arnie's treatise, the three foreign newcomers announced for the CL would appear to be re-assessed as:- Andersson (Edinburgh) 5 x 1.25 = 6.25, LIndman (Berwick) 4 x 1.25 = 5.00, & Haertel (Ipswich) 5.5 x 1.25 = 5.63
  3. Not true - Hans Andersen was rumoured to have been considered for Peterborough, and also the likes of Rohan Tungate, Max Fricke, Timo Lahti, Patrick Hougaard, Kim Nilsson, etc. would also be ineligible. So let's not try paint this as an anti-British measure.
  4. If the OAP concession was being abused by those under 63 women/under 65 men, then I appreciate that reverting to a single adult admission price would eradicate this cheating. If OAP concession admissions were to be reinstated, then it should require all those seeking to pay the lower rate, to provide proof of age every time they sought entrance by displaying either their birth certificate, passport, or driving licence. The travel concession card would not be valid proof as these are provided when you reach 60.
  5. I really enjoy Weegie comedy, so it’s appropriate to complement the efforts of the would-be “Rab C Nesbitts” and “Mary Dolls” on here (Note for JCF : Mary Doll is NOT an inflatable that you can buy in Peterborough to keep Olivia company )
  6. Ian Paterson, who has the best Speedway Museum in the Galaxy(From Cinder to Shale), has apart from the largest collection of vintage to modern bikes (Douglas, Rudge, Vincent Vampire etc) also displays a large collection of jars with samples of shale collected from many past & present venues worldwide.
  7. We're still using a mechanism introduced by Fred Mockford at New Cross in 1934 to start races! Surely there must be a more reliable alternative that is a) more reliable and doesn't malfunction/rise squint, and b) eradicates jump starts/rollers Trialing a start light/transponder system to replace ye olde starting gate as suggested above, should be considered. Perhaps now is the time the FIM for take the lead on this for the benefit of sport worldwide.
  8. In other words you're too thick to understand and resort to type with insults. TTFN
  9. OK I'll bite. Referring to #328, where I was quoting a previous post by MD re AS, if you really reckon that "clearly states that Aaron never gor praised" (what's gor btw ? ) the only thing that is clear is that you are unable to comprehend what was actually stated. Your fellow supporter Manse seems to have the same problem in interpreting the written word. As for apologies, no need to apologize for your faux pas Nice to see the other half of the Victor & Barry tandem team is now giving you his moral support on here. Nighty, night, and remember to put the spoon away.
  10. Typical inaccurate and moronic reply from another who ignores Summers contribution at Newcastle in the last round, and once again resorts to insulting the poster instead. If you think you can bully me off the topic, forget it as I''m not intimidated by you and your fellow knuckle draggers who seem to think they have an exclusive right to voice an opinion on here, and woe betide anyone who questions their utterances.
  11. Yup Summers really let you lot down in the last round of the Cup at Newcastle on 9th October, when he top scored a paid 13 score including a tie clinching 5 -1 in heat 15. Did you conveniently forget that? Hope he get's a move to a club where the fans will appreciate his efforts, rather than being made the scapegoat for a lack of team success at Glasgow this Season. It appears for some Tigers fans, as Billy Ocean would say,: "When the going gets tough the Tigs start moaning"
  12. According to Cradley website Tom Perry is listed for the Golden Hammer on Monday :- http://www.cradleyheathens.co/news.php?extend.1742 Surely no one can believe that Perry has been 'persuaded' to stand down in favour of Sarjeant tonight by Glasgow
  13. Having watched the Lublin vs Rzeszow live on internet yesterday where Lambert was untroubled in posting a 12pt max in the twelve heats that were run, and then took part in the celebrations, I wonder how he is now injured (excuses written on a toilet roll addressed to George English as it's appropriate for a load of Tom Kite!) See for yourself - here is a link to the full match & enjoy Robert joining in the festivities during the last 10 minutes of the broadcast:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBzOuNnT0PY
  14. Still listed on BSPA website as the Laurels at Central Park on Monday. If this is correct, you would assume the KO Cup match would take precedence for Hopwood's services, unless there is a "new" rule that any NL fixture, individual or team match, will take priority over any Championship fixture when the NL fixture has been entered in the racing calendar earlier. No doubt Mr Vatcher should be able to clarify the matter
  15. Should be a close match on Monday, with the return of Lawson, Bewley & Smith for the Tigers, and Bowtell for the Diamonds. It could depend upon who Glasgow recruit at no. 6, as the reserves are where Newcastle might be most vulnerable, and so decide the aggregate score.
  16. Erik Riss was also included for Rzeszow today. TBH I doubt if he will be top of their wanted list for 2018 after a terrible display. e/f? in 1st race when last, exc for tape touching in 2nd, and then rightly thrown out of his 3rd for delaying the start through a mixture of gardening & generally faffing about (tbh I'm surprised he gets away with his start antics in the UK), and understandably substituted for his final race. A long drawn out meeting with mainly processional racing, with the homesters well & truly pumped by Lublin.
  17. Congrats to Sheffo , well deserved Champs. Also appropriate that the best two teams in the SGBC fought out the Play Off Final. If it comes to pass that the top league restrict their race nights to Mondays & Thursdays in 2018, then I expect both Sheffield & Ipswich to be part of it.
  18. FYI:- 1. Dan Bewley was signed as a Belle Vue asset prior to the start of the 2016 Season. 2..Belle Vue & Edinburgh's designated race day for 2017 was Friday at Premier & Championship level, respectively. 3. Belle Vue as his parent club, decided to declare Dan as their number 6 for their 2017 Premier team. Therefore DB would have been unable to ride for both clubs on their designated home race day when there were coinciding home fixtures. Either you are being disingenuous or were simply unaware of the above facts when stating "Blobby's second point was clearly irrelevant".
  19. You can't resist doctoring a quote by selectively omitting part of it, to twist things - still if it keeps you happy, so be it. Just to clarify your interpretation, I am not gloating at the closure of Oxford, just sad that if you conduct yourself in the campaign to save Cowley in a similar fashion as on here, then you will be a liability in the process. If you wish to constructively respond, have the balls to fully quote in future. All the best A Genuine Speedway Supporter
  20. Typical forked tongue from LS as he still fails to admit he deliberately doctored Blobby's original post in order to twist the facts Really sad Mr P thinks this is smart - no wonder there's little chance Oxford will ever return if he is involved in presenting facts for the campaigners . All the best A Real Speedway Fan..
  21. If Josh G is out, the a guest from the Championship will restricted to someone from Berwick, Newcastle, Redcar & Scunny. Robert Lambert, Stevie Worrall, Nick Morris, & Charles Wright seem the best candidates, but some of them might in Poland or Czech Rep this weekend. Agree best choice.
  22. As Worky vs Peterborough also on Saturday, so JS unavailable, therefore thought he was referring to Ippo @ Sheffield, where Sarj had already guested for Glasgow within 7 days in Play-Offs? Hence diff teams, but same track.
  23. Not sure, but perhaps Sarjeant ineligible to guest in same competition as an away team guest within 7 days?
  24. As you seem keen to predict another's team's non starters for 2018, how about telling us your predictions for your beloved Glasgow, next Season. Given that you always try to give the impression that you are "in the know" , how about predicting whether Lawson, Worrall, Bewley, Perry & Summers will be at Ashfield, or not, in 2018 for starters
  25. Pointless speculation until the 2018 points limits and any restrictions on team composition (e.g. reserve slots, rider nationality restrictions, etc.) are agreed and officially publicised.
