Craig Cook won it for last season and was presented with Trophy at Armadale by Jim McGregor (cue a snidey comment from an envious Paulco )

Glasgow Vs Panthers - 27th April
cyclone replied to LagutaRacingFan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Tigers really need their Danish reserves to heavily outscore the Panthers 6 & 7, to be in with a chance of winning. Thomsen looks dynamic on track, but I wonder if his bikes are up to scratch. From what I've seen of him, he reminds of Robert Branford last season, who always looked better than his final points return -
Glasgow V Edinburgh (lc) 20/4/13 @ 3pm

Alternatively instead of spending heavily on importing another overseas rider, they offer Wolbert an advance to sort out his engines. Prior to yesterday, he has impressed at Ashfield and was certainly a class act at Armadale on Friday. Having been present yesterday, I'm surprised the Tigeratti on here did not credit Theo with being the only Tiger to lower the colours of both CooK & Masters, which was no mean feat. Also note that the Danish reserve duo appear exempt from criticism, despite both being ineffective -
Edinburgh V Glasgow (ch) 28/3/14 @ 7.30pm

In addition to the air fence I thought rider safety has been improved by moving the start gate back,as there appeared to be no bunching in the race to the first bend, which also previously handicapped the rider off gate 4, who was liable to run out of space. Both teams are starting with decent reserve pairings and imo, the Tigers look like they will gain in replacing Ringwood with Nielsen, based on tonight's performance. The Armadale micro climate came up trumps tonight as the forecast rain stayed away, although ten degrees warmer would have been nice -

If this match is using the standard 15 heat format, will heat 15 nominees not be selected from top three averages/match scorers for both teams ? If so, what will be strange about Tigers lineup re heat 15 ? -
I was told that the ref that night, Ernie Chapman, was accompanied by his dog into the ref's box as usual. However on this occassion Fido decided to jump up and it's paw hit the tapes release button
-
Predictable Weegie paranoia again Take it that it was part of the "conspiracy" for Monarchs to kindly loan to their struggling near neighbours, Wolbert & Pijper to occupy the top two heat leader slots

Is Sunderland located within Europe

Would question whether a visa is actually required by any EU nationals, including Sweden, Czech Republic, Denmark, Poland, in the first place. Perhaps the GBE documentation requires updating to reflect EU employment criteria.

Which Rider Have You Never Taken To?
cyclone replied to phillipsr's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Always thought Michael Lee was overrated and imo was the worst culprit for continually pushing the tapes to gain an unfair advantage at the start. Was quite pleased when some refs eventually cottoned on to this and scuppered his start antics. Once this happened, his results tapered off and he resorted to being a petulant victim of these "nasty referees" -
Speedway Star Toothless Pussycat
cyclone replied to robolots's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
One excellent facet of the Speedway Star that is being ignored on here is the superb display of photos, both past and present. I've yet to see anything on the net that matches quality and volume of illustrations appearing in the Star on a weekly basis -
Speedway Star Toothless Pussycat

Buy the Star for factual information, including authentic data directly from the various Promotions, and quite happy to continue to do so. Enjoy the gossip and diverse opinions that appears on the BSF, but I am aware that there is a mixture of fact & fiction. No-one can be certain that the views expressed on here are representative of the majority of punters that regularly attend meetings or buy the Speedway Star. If I was Philip Rising, I'd pay more attention to the circulation figures for the magazine than the inane witterings of certain posters on here -
Replace Davies & Benko with Nick Morris & Damien Koppe.. Might have to move fast as Somerset will probably be sounding out Morris

Reported in this week's Star that Daugavpils have signed Franc. Don't they race on Sundays ?

Why not find out for yourself, or are you mentally incapable or just plain lazy ? Tell you what, go and check the PL Greensheets on the BSPA website and you'll discover that Rasmus Jensen still has an assessed average of 7.00.
-
Really ? Tell that to Kenneth Hansen, Jesper B Monberg, Rasmus Jensen, Peter kildemand, Nikolaj Busk Jacobsen, Ander Thomsen, and Mikkel Michelsen who all rode in Division 1 matches in 2013. Bloody good amateurs eh
-
Brady Kurtz rode in thirteen Danish League 1 matches and two Danish Elite League matches for HSK Holsted in 2013. Await to see if an unattached Danish rider with similar experience would also be given a 5pt assessed GSA. If a Dane was assessed at 7.00, I believe this could be interpreted as discriminating against EU Nationals by the BSPA.

Are you now going to regularly attend meetings at Trashfield ? Surely you're not a wee Glory Hunter

Take it you guys never buy a programme at Shielfield, otherwise you would know how to spell Matthew Wethers

One concern re Fox was the following statement in the Official Press Release:- It is true that he is currently injured, but he will be fit by the end of this month. “I broke my clavicle in the middle of last month, I was told it would take four weeks to heal and I wouldn’t need surgery. When I went back on Tuesday I was told it would need surgery. But I should be ready to start riding and training again in three weeks, by the start of the new year.”

The full details will no doubt appear when the 2014 PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM DECLARATIONS & GREENSHEET AVERAGES are issued on the BSPA website, I believe that individual clubs can submit their proposed team declarations to the BSPA for homologation by the Management Committee any time prior to the commencement of the 2014 Season. The Management Committee will no doubt be mindful of Kurtz's Danish League experience and the implications of assigning him a lower starting GSA than they would for an EU newcomer with similar professional league experience. Perhaps you should seek an update directly from the Somerset Promotion.

Where & when did the BSPA publish BK's "official rating" as 3.00 ? The fact that it appeared in a Somerset press release is as credible as your's & Cliffeboy's ramblings on here

But both rode in the Australian U-21 Championship Final in Kurri Kurri on 19th January, 2013. This is a National Championship restricted to Australian nationals aged under 21, btw
