  1. Gaters paradise, Morris look like he skated over that final bend, nothing to hold him up.
  2. They are using R/R but wanted a guest, I don’t think you should be allowed a guests for second strings or reserves.
  3. Even watching on catch up I was close to giving up after the first lot of races, but I forwarded a few heats and the racing got better at times, but like most tracks, dry and dusty, very little extra grip if you went out to the fence. Not expecting any different from tonight's BSN offering at Leicester, its all too predictable.
  4. Justin ended up becoming infamous for his engine failures and I don’t mean giving up and pulling onto the centre green like so many riders do now, these were genuine and led of course to people wondering what wasn’t he doing to take care of his equipment such was it so unreliable.
  5. There is a long list of riders who people thought might break through but ultimately never did, in recent times you have had riders like Zack W who still does grass and long track, Ashton B who has also gone to other two wheeled disciplines. Its easy to look back through rose tinted glasses, but I miss the days when you had a junior meeting after the main 4 vs 4 over 6 heats.
  6. Being paired with Tilbury was never easy for any rider, I seem to recall he was steady enough but just not that fast.
  7. Never any issues with Richard when he was with us at Lakeside and I think it helped that he seemed to have a very good working relationship with Cookie, extremely well liked by the fans and won the last ever race at the arena.
  8. Not just Ipswich I would say, the sport is in a mess and the loss of any one team would have a serious effect on the others being able to run a proper model. Your promoter talks a lot of sense, but so did Stuart Douglas when he brought Arena Essex and none of the other promoters would listen to him either because he was new and they don't the idea of change, even when things are in the gutter.
  9. Dust from the get go and they wont put any water on it, newbies wont come more than once if they go home covered in dust and as for the music, clearly the tie up with Poland has taught them nothing about presentation. Roll on September, might actually get some good meetings once tracks are not dry as a bone.
  10. Dicko is stuck in traffic after a crash this afternoon somewhere, with Phil Morris there im sure plenty of water will go down, I hope so anyway.
  11. He probably has a saying like "if i can see dust, then i wont make a fuss"
  12. Like at Plymouth where you get close racing but not a lot of passing because the track is too narrow both on the straights and the bends, around there riders almost automatically become Phillip Sitera, remember him? the rider they used to nickname the Rolling Roadblock.
  13. Track will be like every other in the Country right now, dry and dusty, has those that prepare track forgotten how to handle hot summers, most have been doing it for more years than they care to recall, or is it the riders insisting they want it like a dustbowl and if its the latter, boy are they going to be in for a shock once the weather eventually turns in a couple of months.
  14. Is this forum dying a slow death like the sport in this country? I started a topic yesterday for the Scunthorpe vs Redcar match because it was going to be on BSN, but why is an fan of a club that ceased to exist eight years ago starting a topic because two sets of fans who still have clubs to follow are clearly not interested, and there has been scant follow up after the meeting. Oxford were at home last night, but not a mention of that match on this forum, its like it never existed, Plymouth is the same, often no threads for their home matches. I know not all fans do social media but you would think a few from a group of at least 500 (that's the min most clubs get) would want to be interactive.
  15. SCUNTHORPE: Josh Pickering, Connor Mountain, Dan Gilkes, Michael Palm Toft, Luke Harrison, Ryan Ingram, Nathan Ablitt. REDCAR: Charles Wright, Simon Lambert, Jake Mulford, Jason Edwards, Jake Allen, Ace Pijper, Jody Scott. Im looking forward to the battles between Pickering and Wright and also i think Redcar might edge it at reserve, Allen and Lambert are ex Scorpions so i like think this will be a close meeting.
  16. No idea what the tractor is trying to grade, there is sod all shale out there, just another typical British Speedway meeting, dry and dusty, and most of the points are from the gate.
  17. A rider like Batch should be hitting double figures every week from reserve, deep down he is good enough to do it but as we all know its whether he can do it mentally.
  18. Didn’t even know there was another forum, with this one being down for the last 3/4 days I wondered if like British Speedway its days were numbered. Despite a very small minority who try to spoil it for everyone else, this platform is very important and it would be a big loss if there wasn’t something like this for fans to have a debate of exchange views on.
  19. We need young riders and a bloody ton of them too. Britain needs to scrap the current setup and completely start again from scratch. Training camps, standard machinery, with the league that is somewhere between the second and third divisions, and split regionally, they may even need to cease running a league because of a lack of riders and go back to what they did in 1928 with a series of individual meetings and match races, until enough riders can be found to run a league with no doubling up because it WILL be just one league, with some scratch races after for riders under 15. The longer they keep sticking a plaster on it, the harder and more expensive it will be to repair it properly or maybe not at all.
  20. At some point they are going to have to give team places to riders who are not ready, you can kick kicking the ball down the road but eventually it will happen, riders like Nicholls etc cannot go on forever. The sport must go back to be more amateur, it’s got to get even worse before it can get better.
  21. Chris Adam’s “we know we are a better side than this” Your not though are you.
  22. The Foxes are not looking good, Zagar gave up after one lap, clearly didn’t want to know, bike was still under power. Cut to after heat 14 in the booth, Lemo wishes Chris good luck for the final race, and oh by the way, your sacked.
  23. I can’t help but think the Lions could do something here especially with Lidsey and Zager as ex riders, as always it comes down to whether Klindt gates and whether Batch wants to get stuck in on the first/second bends.
  24. Trouble is there is a lack of riders so in years past, riders like Batch would have been quickly tossed aside and never seen again, there is always some mug willing to give riders like him another chance because they don’t have much options. Batch is like Craig Cook and Drew Kemp, there is a decent rider there, we have seen it years ago, something has happened, and by trying to carry on they will only dig a bigger hole for themselves mentally and get a lot of stick from the speedway going public, is it really worth it?
  25. Very bizarre choice of guest unless Kemp agreed to do it for nothing more than travel money and a standard pay per point return, but you can probably figure he only agreed to it based on a guaranteed points return and then people wonder why some riders cant be asked.
