  1. Wouldn't be surprised if this was true. Crowds are lower year upon year with no effort to gain new supporters or get the ones that have given up to come back. This years team at the start of the season said it all. No Scandanavians, so no air fares to pay. Silver is approaching his mid 80's with nobody looking willing to take over the running of the place, not that he'd allow it. He's definitely a hands on owner (I wouldn't use the word promoter. He stopped doing that years ago). 2015 could very well be the last year of speedway at Rye House IF he decides to carry on beyond this dismal season.
  2. Donkey perhaps. If I didn't have a programme I would've thought he was a novice just starting out.
  3. We're buggered then. 0, 0, 0 on his last visit there and that was at reserve!!
  4. Scrap the league cup & start the league campaign in April
  5. Can't see a thread for this so here goes. Taking a trip up for this as we've only less than a couple weeks until our season is officially done, making it a very long winter. Looking forward to the award winning pie & peas, but no parmo this time as I wanna give my digestive system a break No idea who we have as guest at number 2, but I guess Luke Bowen is riding after taking his place in the Rockets side last night
  6. As far as my team are concerned it's been shocking. Can't see it improving much next year to be honest as Silver looks to have cut costs down to the bare bone with no outside sponsorship coming in and crowd levels dipping alarmingly.
  7. Good to meet you too. Sorry I was a bit vague. Caught me on the hop a bit. I'm always wary when someone comes up to me and asks, "are you Shadders?" I'm never sure whether to thrust my hand out, or duck.
  8. Richard Hall looked like he was saving fuel tonight, he was going that slow
  9. Saw someone walking round with a riders fuel fund bucket at Peterborough last week. Wasn't much in it
  10. Thanks to Alex Edberg, good guest for Rye tonight. Nice kevlars
  11. Enjoyed the novelty of two home wins on the trot. Much better from Jason Garrity. Looked quick and determined. Alex Edberg looked a different rider than the one we saw racing for Berwick. A decent guest at last. Peterborough were generally poor. Adam Roynon has his moments, but Richard Hall was awful. Max Dilger was as expected, rubbish. Looking forward to Redcar tomorrow. Heard some stuff at the Peterborough v Berwick meeting last week from a very good source, but was told otherwise from a club insider. Tonight I heard basically the same.
  12. Looks like you're getting your wish. Peterborough are shocking so far.
  13. Haven't had to put up with that for a few months
  14. At least you know your line up. I've no idea who's replacing Bowen & Bunyan. Nothing on the website or Twitter
  15. K has lost 0.72 off his starting average. M has lost 0.64 off his. K was at number one for the first couple of months too. Even he will admit he's no longer a PL number one, so I reckon you're being harsh on K
  16. I've seen us beaten to a pulp 3 times there this year, you've been to two of those, so you know what to expect.
  17. Lewis Blackbird is a big miss for you. Can't predict the outcome until I know who we have at 2 & 7
  18. Make sure you don't leave it too late. Usually only sausages and chips left by start time. Curry sauce is very good. Chinese style, quite thick
