  1. 7.5% proof farmhouse cider is strong enough for me thanks
  2. Would be nice to finish the home league campaign with a win, but I saw Scunny last Tuesday and they look tasty. I'm gonna numb the pain with some farmhouse cider with a few friends and have a start line party.... Sod it!! If anything I can celebrate my first 100% league attendance at Rye House since I started following them in 1985
  3. Not surprised to read this. Who'd wanna put their neck on the line and then be told the cheques in the post?
  4. I was under the impression that today was the cut off date?Scunthorpe have a couple of off race nights don't they?
  5. I'll take that from Simon Lambert at Peterborough on Sunday
  6. Edinburgh will pick up the six points tonight that will put them top. I suspect their first pick will be Workington, leaving Somerset to choose Berwick. Edinburgh will then pick Scunthorpe, leaving you with Ipswich.
  7. Decent point for Berwick, but should've been more had Vissing performed as a number one should.
  8. English isn't a nationality according to the last census form. I certainly don't count myself as English
  9. Jesus was born in a stable, but he never ran in the Derby. It's where your blood is from, not where you were born. I was born in Bethnal Green, East London, within the sound of Bow Bells, proper Cockney, but I don't class myself as English as I have Greek blood from both parents When it was worth having. Top league speedway is a joke now
  10. Pretty much from the gate early on when the track was wet and heavy. Only livened up towards the end with a couple of decent races.
  11. Scunthorpe were fantastic, Berwick had no answer. Looks like the Bandits peaked too early.
  12. If that bloke on the centre green mentions it's Ryan Douglas birthday once more I'm gonna punch his bleedin lights out!!
  13. King or Allen for me. Rockets for the wooden spoon. Kennett will score under 6 points in the PLRC
  14. I shared my 2 litres with a couple of mates Ian. You don't feel it as you're downing it, it's very drinkable. I should've bought more really. No headache in the morning, but a definite feeling of bleeeeergh!!! Lovely stuff though. You're lucky to live so close.
  15. When it first opened it was arguably the best in speedway (Mildenhall fans may argue this), but a couple of years ago they switched from fresh cod fillets to frozen battered and boy does it notice. The queues that used to stretch out of the door have dwindled to nothing. They often sell out of fish & pies before the meeting starts, usually only sausages and chips left. More Rye House cost cutting. I had 24 years experience in the fish & chip trade. All they had to do was ask. My consultancy fees would be minimal. A kind of cut price Gordon Ramsey. Far better choice in the cabin under the refs box.
  16. I wasn't such a frequent visitor in the last season. Just married and a kid on the way, plus my then missus wasn't such a speedway fan. Hard to say which team is worst, but I'm feeling it more now as I'm more of a fan than I was back then.
  17. Can't disagree with any of Westhamboys post. Like a few others I travel all over the country supporting my team, spending a small fortune in the process. To be slagged off by Silver for having the gall to criticise his team selection, track prep and general mishandling of the Rye House Rockets, turning us from the envy of the Premier League to a laughing stock in just a few years is an insult to and all Rockets fans. He banished the supporters club almost as soon as he took over in the late 90's, so where else can we air our grievances and frustrations other than on the inter web? He's really lost touch in what we really want, as the dwindling gates have shown I'd also like to apologise for any immediate post match rantings concerning Edinburgh Speedway. This was borne out of a mixture of frustration, some upsetting news from Berwick (not speedway related) and some very strong Somerset farmhouse cider. What I should've said was, well done to the Monarchs on their win. This is where we should be right now, not battling Sheffield for the wooden spoon.
  18. As much as I love my club and will defend them until I'm blue in the face, I can't defend that crap last night. Easily dispatched a poor Peterborough side on Wednesday, but here's a measure of where we are now. Completely unacceptable.
  19. It's Newport all over again. At least you went out on a high. We've had a slow steady death
  20. Can you return the lifeboat when you've finished with it please
