We had to submit our 2016 annual leave requests by November last year, so there's no way I can can plan any speedway tours. Saying that I've requested the last weekend in July as that's been a regular Northern Tour weekend in past years

I suspect this will be the last year of speedway at Rye House. This time next year I reckon they'll be planing to Tarmac over the track and turn it into a motor sport circuit.

Andrew Silver made a brief return in 2009 after a 12 year absence. May not have been a great success, but was hugely entertaining. Scored a maximum in one of his last meetings and held a mid 5 point average when injury cut short his season. He was in the Rockets side at Berwick when Lawson was riding for the Bandits
