Sheffield went into the Premiership because they couldn't make Sunday work so it was the only way they could move back to their traditional race night. In the same way Thursday didn't work for Poole. I haven't heard this podcast but was it before Leicester made their announcement? On a more general note, Sheffield have no stadium availability this month so Leicester are stepping in at the eleventh hour and good for them.

More to the story here: http://www.leicesterspeedway.com/news.php?extend.32092 Good that all six rounds are to be staged otherwise it would have been pretty much a foregone conclusion that Ipswich would take the title. They probably will anyway but a poor round at Leicester could spice up the final round at Belle Vue.
-
The six rounds could be completed if round 5 is at Sheffield on Thursday 27th and the final one at Belle Vue on Monday 31st or even the previous day in the afternoon leaving Monday as a back-up day. All subject to stadium availability though.
-
Edit: Just checked again. No points for coming last.
-
They would receive 2 points.

If the round at Sheffield does not take place then the title goes to Ipswich as they cannot be caught. Even if they finish last at Belle Vue they will be on 40 points. Their closest challengers are King's Lynn on 26.

I think Thursdays were introduced when Sweden had 9 teams riding so, now that they are back to 8 Thursday racing might be considered unnecessary.
-
It is amazing. The league campaign started at the beginning of May leaving 21 Thursdays available for Sheffield. The SON took care of one but they were scheduled to ride two of them on a Monday including this week's postponement leaving 12 Thursdays free. On four Thursdays they rode away and a further three were used for the Pairs. There were another three which were postponed due to the weather/stadium unavailability leaving all of two, one of which was used for a league cup match brought forward from April owing to an earlier postponement leaving one Thursday unused.
-
You would think so. The league campaign started at the beginning of May leaving 21 weeks to fit in 10 home meetings. Easy isn't it or is it? I have been checking the Sheffield fixture list. Three Thursdays had been set aside to accommodate the Pairs and a similar number when they were riding away. This leaves five, three of which have been postponed and at least one of the remaining there was no opposition available.

This is an extremely awkward situation. It is to shorter notice to cancel I imagine but it is highly unlikely many involved will have any appetite for this match now.

Only a guess, but his CL average may be deemed the most recent as he doesn't have a PL team place.

British Final 2022
tocha replied to Hackett's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
There is another thread for the British Final running in the Premiership section. Someone has posted to say the 'Experience Day' has been brought forward a week. Hope everyone involved knows. -
This could make things awkward. What happens now: https://www.bellevue-speedway.com/belle-vue-experience

It could be run on a Sunday in October. By the 25th September all Polish league fixtures, play-off and final will have finished.

That's who I got the info from originally but he has revised it this morning.
