Poole have signed Richie Worrall as a temporary replacement for Holder now that KIldemand's stint is over. Apparently they wouldn't have been able to keep 'the killer' as he would have missed nine fixtures due to Danish commitments. He comes straight into the side tomorrow

Not a great deal unless at ground level and, even then, you can still see the top half of the riders whilst on the opposite straight. There have been slight spectator improvements. The trailer stand which was on the home straight has been moved to bends 1 and 2 whilst in its place more scaffolding has been erected providing spectator seating.

I think NJB would miss too many Wednesday fixtures due to his riding commitments in Denmark. He may even have to miss the home leg KOC match against Swindon on 23rd May although it is possible that his 28 day stint might have expired by then anyway.

Any Witches fans still harbouring thoughts of going to Lakeside tomorrow need to be aware that the A12 northbound will be closed for road repairs. Tomorrow is scheduled to be the last night for works and as I came back this evening closure extended to junction 26 for Colchester and would have been from junction 19, Boreham interchange. Probable diversion A130/A131 then A120.

In that case, Richard will not be eligible for the KO Cup legs against Ipswich next Thursday and Friday. 16.5.1(h) is sick or carrying a non-speedway injury for which a Medical Certificate must be supplied to the SCB within 48 hours of the sickness / injury occurring in which case the Rider will receive a mandatory 7 days suspension of his SCB Registration from the day of the meeting.

I don't know why Ricky Wells wasn't re-signed. He was probably their best rider from August onwards. He certainly won more heats than any other Rocket during this period. Still available as is Richie Worrall.

I think it might be open until 10pm although you couldn't get onto the A14 from A12 when I came to the Peterborough instead directed back down Felixstowe Road although the exit at Nacton was still open.

Those travelling from Essex need to be aware that in recent weeks Foxhall Road has been closed for roadworks at the roundabout to Heath Road. Although they are supposed to be completed by tomorrow they have already overrun so there is no guarantee they won't continue into the weekend. It is advisable to continue past the Nacton exit from the A14 then come off for the A12 joining Foxhall Road at the roundabout southbound either to the main entrance (now on your right) or the alternative via Bell Lane. Also, be prepared for overnight closures to the Essex section of the A12.

As already mentioned Hammers' riders were in action for their Premiership clubs yesterday. Nick dropped just one point leading Swindon to a convincing victory at Poole whilst Adam scored 7 (a win and two paid wins) and Zach, 3. Meanwhile Richard scored 9 (two wins and a paid win) for Somerset v Leicester for whom Kyle collected 11 + 1 from the reserve berth. Whilst all this was going on, Alfie qualified for the 'under 21' final with 10 points, which could have been 13 had he not fallen when leading his opening heat, and joins prospective Hammer, Jason Edwards, who had already achieved qualification at Eastbourne. Ben leads out Isle of Wight this evening. All very encouraging.

That is the route I would normally take but there are roadworks now almost down as far as the turn-off for South Woodham Ferrers and 50 mph limit. I've had no problems with the M25 recently which is much improved now there are 4 lanes for most of it. Just keep tuned to BBC Essex to be on the safe side.

Just bringing the thread back to the first page, revised dates for the CS matches against Ipswich have been announced. Ipswich come to us next Friday, 13th (perish the thought!) with the return at Foxhall Heath, Saturday 21st.

After 14th April, Spedeworth are not at Foxhall Heath again until 5th May so it could work.

Prior to this I had a look at Spedeworth's fixture list and they don't have any meetings at Foxhall for the weekend 21st/22nd April. Saturday meetings have proved popular in the past so might have been a choice. Of course, there may be maintenance work being carried out at the stadium that weekend.

I doesn't look as if the June 14th KOC fixture will now take place. Yesterday I received a press release email in confirmation but, this morning, it isn't on either club's fixture list whilst the latest news item on the Hammers website states that the date for their away leg is yet to be confirmed.

I don't know if this is something of a record but of the 33 meetings scheduled up to and including tomorrow, 20 have fallen foul of the weather.

Judging by the current weather maps this meeting might go ahead as long as they get on with it promptly and even then they may have to declare after heat 10. As far as the rest of tomorrow and Monday goes the weather could wipe out the entire fixtures scheduled for those days. Poole have already postponed their match against Somerset tomorrow.
