I don't think the organisers will allow a situation whereby there is only one Swede in the series. In the past they have actually given two wildcards when no Swedish rider has qualified on merit. Who that second rider might be I have no idea, Linus Sundstrom or Jacob Thorssell spring to mind or they might see if AJ wants another go. More likely it could be Denmark who has just one representative, NKI or Nicky Pedersen if he can convince them that he is fully race fit. Also, I rule out Holder who has already had a pick for the 2014 series after failing to qualify in the season following his championship win in 2012. Other than that there has been no precedent for having two Aussies in the series as prior to 2014 it has never been needed. Regardless of who deserves a place it is likely to go to:- Hancock Another Swedish rider NKI/Pedersen Vaculik/Milik.

Well how about this? Guest needed for Alfie as Glasgow's opponents are Newcastle whilst a guest required for either Glasgow or Somerset in place of Richard Lawson. In all this, why an earth are Glasgow riding on a Friday anyway?!

Jacob Thorrsell was to be missing tonight as he was scheduled to ride in Sweden (PO semi), postponed from yesterday. However, this was called off again around lunchtime. Does this mean he is able to turn out for Wolves after all?

..and that is exactly the problem as far as Lakeside are concerned. Joining the NL very late in the day meant that promising youngsters had already been lined up by established clubs, David Mason was signed because there was no-one else who could hold down a third heat leader position at that time and had we retained George Hunter he might still be 'entertaining' us now. Also,at that time, George was scoring very little anyway. In fact, we were lucky that Alfie came good although it has been to our detriment that he has missed so many meetings through fixture clashes with Newcastle. From the Hagon Academy Jason Edwards will be fifteen on 14th October and lives locally. Nathan Ablitt is a year and a half younger but, based in Sussex, is likely to end up at Eastbourne.

It appears that both televised matches this week are to be delayed transmissions on Premier Sports starting 10pm UK time.

What gives is this:- A Rider must be released to take part in a higher priority Meeting, unless he is “Doubling Up”, in which case the priority for a clash of Official Meetings is as follows: a) The Original Fixture if there is a clash with a re-arranged Fixture b 1 st priority to the owner of the rider c) 2 nd priority to the previous season club d) 3 rd priority to the league in which the owner club is a member. ..although I don't know how Rye House have retained the services of Stuart Robson unless it has been by mutual agreement.

Whilst on the discussion of riders, Peterborough take on Newcastle this Wednesday and is an original fixture. Belle Vue v Rye House isn't, which implies that Steve Worrall, Chris Harris, and Stuart Robson will have to ride in the Championship meeting.

This season ticket holder is peeved that we pulled out of the KO cup when there was a perfectly suitable reserved date, 11th August. All riders from both sides appear to have been available. Even more absurd is that when the original fixture list was produced, this was the date selected to ride against the now defunct Belle Vue/Coventry side.

Hi Dave. Any idea why Premier Sports are showing Polish highlights at 6.30pm but not tonight's live fixture which instead is being broadcast at 8.30pm.

Well done Mildenhall, sharper from the gate and employed better tactics. Lakeside were poor in all departments, just two heat winners one of which was the bizarre reserves race where both Tigers' fell leaving Couzins chugging along to take the chequered flag, and poor choice of guests. I cannot see them making the play-offs and could fninish as low as seventh. Locke is showing signs of improvement despite falling off on a regular basis but Couzins and Laurence are worse than useless and must go.
