Where's Bomber when you need him... oh riding for the other side

To be fair you also heard Hans had been binned by Panthers

This has always been a big mystery to me, what's so wrong with Thursday's? Surely this just proves that people like going out on a Wednesday evening in Poole and not a Thursday. If you support your club you go (if you can) on whatever night of the week... what's the other big attraction in Poole on a Thursday evening?

Another new poster telling us how to behave and in the same sentence calling people toxic bell ends... pot, kettle, black?

I think it was 5 years but then covid hit so that was moved on one year, so it should come to an end in 2026... unless they buy themselves out of it like Sky did

and look what that business is worth now!

Carl Johnson leaves the club, the club keeps running Buster leaves the club, game over

The guy's been a legend in British Speedway... alarm bells for me were ringing when he said he'd not been on a bike since last season until practice day, which imo spoke volumes! He has been declared for Thursday's meeting though

It's not been a good year for Buster's Captains!

I'm just wondering where all of these "Johnny come lately" posters are coming from all of a sudden. We've all been on here sounding the warnings for years, in fact most of us have left and all of a sudden, now it's probably too late, people are coming on here to vent their spleens... welcome aboard though. I think I could probably run a Speedway club and a lot better than those in charge currently do but there's no way on this earth that I ever would in it's current format. Why would I? In fact why do those that currently do it... do it. Listening to Nigel Tolley on the Speeway Tavern podcast he said he did it because he's a massive Speedway fan as are his family and he knows it means so much to so many people in the community, which are all very laudable reasons but that almost sounds like a charity, which is not how Speedway should be run. As for your club, well I suspect that the promoter you had this season (and Peterborough's will he won't he potential promoter) were/are driven by hubris. You don't need me to tell you this but if all clubs were run like Buster runs his clubs then the sport would be in a much more healthier state financially, I'd love to have a nice shiny new car on my drive, but I can't afford one, so I don't have one. Buster is no saint, I could do without all of his vindictiveness towards those that have crossed him, sometimes you just have to forgive (not forget) and move on.

Another new poster...

Have you not heard the news? Birmingham are moving to the renovated Alexander stadium and are going to hold a Grand Prix!

Ahh... to live in a world not knowing who Rob Godfrey is, I envy you, I really do
-
I don't think I can face another thread about what needs to happen to British Speedway... it's all been said... Unless @davieb1 is Rob Godfrey in disguise I've noticed a lot of new accounts commenting on these topics all of a sudden. To play along... how about a countdown clock on the centre at all tracks

Like so many of the rules in Speedway they're open to interpretation... the 2 mins has always been a bone of contention for as long as I can remember since a certain Mr Ebdon. Personally I (and I suggest many other fans) would have liked to have seen NKI race in heat 15. But with the way the rules are currently written it really depends on what mood the ref is in. The ref was entitled to disqualify him, that is not my issue, it's gone now. What I am interested in is making sure this kind of thing doesn't happen again because ultimately it's the punters that lose out. It should not be an issue because clubs can't/won't provide something as simple and cheap as a countdown clock! As soon as this happened in the GP's, didn't Trick get excluded because the ref was in a mood they changed the rule more or less straight away so everybody knew where they stood... but not in British Speedway -

I don't know if you guys are deliberately trying to wind me up... this is perfectly simple. Scrap the rules as they are and implement a new rule to make it mandatory for a clock to be on the centre that we can all see and if a rider is not at the tapes and ready to start when the clock counts down to zero they are disqualified. It doesn't matter if the rider is off his bike break dancing while the 2 minutes are counting down, he can do whatever the hell he wants, but if he's not at the tapes ready to start when the clock hits zero... he's gone And it doesn't matter who physically starts the clock, the ref, the start marshal or even the bloody club mascot as long as it's the under direction of the ref -

It does not matter one bit if there is a clock on the centre that all can see... I really can't see what the debate is about -

just have a clock on the centre that everybody can see, problem solved -
No, it was £28k he accepted and he got suspended and fined (28k) and then a reduced fine (3k) on appeal... https://reader.exacteditions.com/issues/60712/page/2 £25k profit... kerching... and some people want this guy back, how short peoples memories are. Did we ever hear the findings of the independent Judicial review and Godfrey's hearing on the 7th of November 2017? It must have been favourable as Godfrey went on to become Chairman of the sport a few short years later, you reap what you sow. And I wonder who the "parties who would step in to prevent the clubs closure" were?
