  1. There are many riders around Europe that could still do a job, Lions legends Vaculik, Wozniak, Nilsson, Przedpelski... any of the rest of the GP field or even the GP Challenge field, Chris Holder... or take a punt on a youngster like Peterborough and KL have done with Wojjy and Bruem, it may just pay off like it had with Wojjy (until whatever has happened, happened). As things stand at the moment, even if we do make the play offs... we're toast I noticed that too and the way that Stewart Dickson had to call him over to the riders waiting to go out in heat 2 to pass on track info. I think it's fair to say that Max is currently learning his role as Captain, but he has been the shining light of our season since the wheels have come off, his commitment on track can't be questioned, if he could just maybe learn to do a bit of team riding...
  2. The thing is if the council wanted to sell the land it doesn't matter if there's a kitten orphanage built on the land they can sell it... unless there's some kind of covenant in place
  3. The only things I've really read on here are people saying we can't criticise him for poor performances because we don't know what he's going through, clearly making reference to his well publicised mental health issues. I haven't read one comment saying his poor riding is down to mental health, just people saying don't criticise because he has had these problems. For me I'm not really bothered what his issues are, thats his business, like you say he's clearly a shadow of the rider he once was, a GP rider a few years ago. He has been on the decline since leaving Belle Vue though. To keep it simple I've seen a team go from genuine title contenders to a team that really doesn't deserve to qualify for the play offs, I don't blame Craig Cook for this, like you, I blame Nick Morris
  4. The trouble with R/R is that it's OK when the team are riding good, if somebody gets injured during a match or a rider is having an off night it can all come unstuck pretty quickly, seen it many times. Like you say maybe in hindsight it would have been better not to have chosen 2 riders the rest of the league had already turned their noses up at. Of course we also don't know what budget the manager is working to
  5. Had a nice little thing going on with Fricke at number 2 but has had to be moved around to cater for the alarming form shown by Cook (sorry to bring it back to him), also said he'd received some crap news from Aussie a week or so back, maybe that's effecting him a little bit also?
  6. I'm not sure what the absolute crap is? All I've read is he's riding crap and not scoring any points, both factually correct
  7. I've also got to say, he may not be everybody's cup of tea off the track... but Woffy was pure class tonight on it, right up there with Emil for me around Leicester
  8. Left after Max James hit the air bags (hope he's OK) as I could see the rain coming in on the radar (even though the Leicester promotion seemingly couldn't, but don't get me started on that!) And I was absolutely astonished to find the gates locked as I wanted to leave... WHY? It certainly wasn't due to a capacity crowd (was pretty good though tbh, Saturday night speedway, who would have thunk it?)... but just what were the Leicester promotion hoping to gain from keeping people out of watching what was effectively a free match and maybe repeat business? I despair sometimes, i really do
  9. I see Dicko and the rest of the team have gone missing again after the meeting with only Max Fricke coming out to make the draw. Had half an hour to fill as well
  10. It's a sign of the times we live in I'm afraid... tonight, and I'm not making this up, we're being told over the PA, to keep to the left of the footpath on the way out of the stadium... because of the stinging nettles! When I was a kid you'd be pushed into them for making a request like that!
  11. Riding professional motorcycle racing for a team is not a bloody therapy session... if he can't cut it he'll be binned off like anybody else in life
  12. Don't forget this year's Jubilee fiasco as well
  13. I'm a mile and a half away, we had a moderate shower around 2ish, should have prepped the track a treat, drying up nicely now
  14. Lovely, sunny, warm afternoon... some angry looking clouds knocking about though, hopefully they'll clear
  15. I think the truth of the matter is we're now a 5th place club with the loss of Morris's points ability at home, we may sneak into the pay offs but like you say unless those missing points are replaced we'll be straight out
