  1. Yes, 100% It's an absolute scandal really. You have to question who the GB Speedway team is run for? The riders? The Sponsors? Certainly not the fans! Whenever GB have ridden in the UK they have attracted a decent crowd. It's all well and good subbing out the national team to a private company but we hardly ever get to see them in the UK, riders are generally representing GB most weekends throughout the year and all the fan gets to see is a Twitter post, usually giving more exposure to the sponsor than the actual results and scorers. They seem to be more interested in running lottery's than putting on Speedway matches. When Team GB was first subbed out, I thought what a great idea, yes it has brought results at the top tier of the sport, but the younger riders results are pretty woeful. These 2nd and 3rd tier GB riders really need to be riding with their tier 1 colleagues in test matches to help bring them on internationally. It's doing no good them riding separately imo That's the big question in UK, who is Speedway run for? And until the promoters answer "the fans" Speedway in the UK will probably continue to decline
  2. It just seems to be random, wasn't working for me on anything for the last week or so but just started working today on my Samsung mobile... like I've said elsewhere, I'm not sure if the admins are still active on here, last summer during some of the TV matches the site wasn't reachable at all on occasions. I hope the admin isn't down to one person or this site could disappear altogether one day, which would be a real shame
  3. Tax benefits for one, not sure how foreign earnings etc. are accounted for. I just naturally assumed they'd all be limited
  4. I would have thought all those riders sponsored by those accountants (is it stava, or something like that) would be limited. It shouldn't really be any hassle if the accountant does all the work for a few of points of earnings. If you've got a decent accountant they'll probably pay for themselves. Chris Harris used to be limited, assume he still is. It'd be interesting to know though.
  5. I have no idea... but personally I would have thought they all would be
  6. As limited company "employees" the riders will be able to deduct £0.45 per mile (for the first 10,000 miles) and £10 per day subsistence for meals etc. And put any accommodation through their accounts as a tax deductible expense... along with any other "cost" for that matter
  7. There was a piece on the news today saying that these private parking sharks are issuing around 37,000 tickets a day
  8. That's good to know, thanks There are burger joints on the site though isn't there? So surely the barriers won't be down
  9. "Supporters will no longer be able to park on the complex" that doesn't square with the parking policy laid out on the one stop's website. That does say it's for customers but who's checking? You don't need to scan a receipt or anything to get out do you?
  10. Good signing for Worky, brilliant signing for British Speedway!
  11. True... he needs to walk before he can run though
  12. He'd get more varied experience riding at Leicester, where every bend is, erm, unique, than riding on the big flat out continental clone-a-tracks
  13. I've looked through the 2024 fixtures several times and can't see this fixture anywhere... I'm sure it's just a simple oversight
  14. Actually, last time i went to Birmingham speedway there was a young Muslim family in attendance... something I've never seen before!
  15. yeah, I was looking at their website last year when I was thinking of heading over and it just says a 4 hour limit for shoppers, same as at Leicester, so as long as you're in and out within the 4 hours you should be good with the ANPR cameras
  16. Can't you park at the one stop shopping centre? Isn't it like the Beaumont Leys parking limited to 4 hours?
  17. Interesting... who knew the courts were sitting on Boxing Day
  18. There only seems to be a limited few blocks available at £20... who knows where you'll end up after being moved last year. I'll wait until nearer the time for a better selection of blocks/seats
  19. They did one at Milton Keynes for at least one year as well
  20. On the face of it that's an excellent decision, I'll definitely attend when it's held at the weekend but unlikely to do so on a Monday night... it'll be interesting to see if Woffy rides in it
