  1. Is it going to bring down British Speedway?
  2. You could potentially qualify for the play offs without riding a home match
  3. If it means more exposure for Speedway who cares really? It's not right but we don't live in a meritocracy anymore, so you either play the game or sink without a trace in the media
  4. Looks like it was well attended, it'll be a while before any home grown talent makes the grade I suspect.
  5. Bomber's average at Leicester this season is 8.41 not too shabby
  6. I think Worrall should give us back the Morris at home points which we have been severely lacking with Batch. Cook for Harris is probably a like for like switch, probably not in entertainment terms but in points terms. Hopefully Cooks gating ability should see him score a few around Leicester. As the league is all about beating teams over 2 legs I think Dickson has restored that ability with the Lions, which disappeared with Nick Morris who was an 8 point man at home
  7. It's certainly been a bad year for Captains! Chris Harris, Hans Andersen, Ritchie Worrall and Josh Pickering all binned off... the arm band seems a bit of a poisoned chalice... or completely meaningless
  8. Fantastic news! I wish Peter a full and speedy recovery. I hope there's no repercussions for Edinburgh Speedway with this incident just when they least need it!
  9. I'd say the punters turned their backs on the BSPL run "shared events", probably because they weren't paying enough, this probably impacted on other events. The PCMT shows that if an event is run properly, the right rates are paid, at the right time of the season the punters will turn up
  10. I think the key is staging events the riders want to ride in and the punters want to pay to watch, obvious really and not rocket science. Events like the, I'm going to call it, first division riders championship and pairs where riders are "forced" to ride for a fixed BSPL rate means that riders don't really want to ride in it and therefore come up with any excuse under the sun not to ride in it devaluing the competition which in turn puts the fans off. Events like the Peter Craven Memorial Trophy held at Belle Vue really seems to have built up some prestige around it. It's run a little differently with a 5 rider semi and 6 rider final, which is truly spectacular, obviously most tracks it's probably not safe to do that but there are a number of different formats that could be run, you've just got to think outside of the box a little bit.
  11. He was, I saw it on BSN, pretty sure he was on the ground before the lamp fell
  12. A pretty nasty night all told... Best wishes to everybody affected
  13. I must say, fair play to Jacob Hook, now he doesn't literally start every sentence with yeah, no, for sure (which really grinds my gears) he's a very good and insightful Co-commentator
  14. I've seen Dayle Wood twice now on BSN and I don't really like what I see, he looks a danger to himself and others on the track
  15. Could Dayle Wood be any more Australian lol Throw another tinny on the barby mate
  16. Yeah, no, for sure. OMG! Is there an option to turn the commentary off?
  17. Until recently he was, like I said I think he was commenting more on why some "other" riders won't go to Lynn Scott Nicholls at King's Lynn No. Points Total Thu Apr 13th 2023 King's Lynn v Wolverhampton (PRa) 5 1, 2, 1, 1 5 (Guest) Thu Apr 21st 2022 King's Lynn v Peterborough (PLCS) 2 1, 1, T, 0, 1' 3 +1 Mon May 30th 2022 King's Lynn v Peterborough (PRa) 2 0, 0, 1 1 Thu Sep 1st 2022 King's Lynn v Peterborough (PRb) 6 3, 1, 2, 2', 2, 2, 3 15 +1 Thu Jul 1st 2021 King's Lynn v Peterborough (PRa) 4 3, 3, 1', 2, 2 11 +1 Mon Jul 5th 2021 King's Lynn v Ipswich (PRb) 2 2', 3, 3, 1, 1^ 10 +1 (Guest) Thu Aug 12th 2021 King's Lynn v Peterborough (PRb) 4 2, 3, 3, 1', 1 10 +1 Thu Jul 25th 2019 King's Lynn v Peterborough (PRa) 3 T, 0, 0, 2 2 Mon Aug 19th 2019 King's Lynn v Peterborough (PRb) 5 3, 1, 1', 2', 3^, 2, 1 13 +2 Mon Jun 18th 2018 King's Lynn v Rye House (PRa) 5 1', 1, 3, 1, 1 7 +1 Wed May 24th 2017 King's Lynn v Rye House (PRa) 5 2, 1, 2, 1, 0 6 Wed Sep 13th 2017 King's Lynn v Rye House (PRb) 1 3, 1, 3, 3, 1 11 Thu Mar 31st 2016 King's Lynn v Belle Vue (ELa) 3 2', 3, 2, 3, 2 12 +1 Thu Jun 30th 2016 King's Lynn v Belle Vue (ELb) 3 0, 2, 2, 0 4 Wed Apr 8th 2015 King's Lynn v Belle Vue (ELa) 3 1, 2, 3, 3, 3 12 Wed Jul 22nd 2015 King's Lynn v Belle Vue (ELb) 5 1', 0, 2, 0 3 +1 Wed Sep 9th 2015 King's Lynn v Swindon (ELb) 4 3, 1, 3, 2, 1 10 (Guest) Wed Apr 16th 2014 King's Lynn v Belle Vue (ELa) 3 1', 2, 3, 1, 0 7 +1 Wed May 14th 2014 King's Lynn v Swindon (ELa) 5 0, 2', 2, 2', 0 6 +2 (Guest) Wed Jun 18th 2014 King's Lynn v Belle Vue (ELb) 3 2', 1, 0, 2 5 +1 Tue Sep 16th 2014 King's Lynn v Lakeside (ELb) 3 0, 2', 2, 2', 1' 7 +3 (Guest) Mon Sep 29th 2014 King's Lynn v Poole (ELPO) 3 0, 1', 3, 2 6 +1 (Guest) Wed Apr 10th 2013 King's Lynn v Coventry (ELa) 5 2, 2, 2', 0 6 +1 Wed Jun 12th 2013 King's Lynn v Wolverhampton (ELa) 5 2, 2, 2, 1 7 (Guest) Wed Aug 21st 2013 King's Lynn v Coventry (ELb) 5 2, 2^, 3, 1, 1 9 Mon Sep 17th 2012 King's Lynn v Coventry (ELb) 5 3, 2, 2, 1, 1' 9 +1 Wed Apr 6th 2011 King's Lynn v Swindon (ELa) 1 2, 3, 6^, 1, 1, 2 15 Wed Aug 3rd 2011 King's Lynn v Swindon (ELb) 1 0, 2, 2, 2, 3 9 Wed Sep 7th 2011 King's Lynn v Birmingham (ELa) 1 2, 3, 6^, 0, 1' 12 +1 (Guest)
  18. The interview I heard with Scott he said that some riders don't fancy it as it's very grippy and you have to be very brave... and he's not riding in the Britsh Final at Belle Vue, widely regarded as the best track in this country and one of the best in the world, citing part of the reason that he doesn't "get on" with the track... like you say it's horses for courses I suppose. Sheffield, Peterborough, King's Lynn, Scunthorpe and Ipswich have very similar heavy clay based surfaces. Riders have always "not fancied" tracks through the years, Exeter being a prime example. Like @Ben91 said Adam Roynon's accident could have happened anywhere and by all accounts wasn't down to track conditions. To be fair Roynon's record around Lynn ain't that bad Rider's Performance at Track Adam Roynon at King's Lynn No. Points Total Wed Jul 22nd 2015 King's Lynn v Belle Vue (ELb) 6 3, 2', 1, X 6 +1 (Guest) Wed May 16th 2012 King's Lynn v Dudley (NL) 1 3, 3, 3, 3, 3 15 Wed Jul 4th 2012 King's Lynn v Coventry (ELa) 6 3, 2, 0, 3, 2, X, 2 12 Wed Oct 24th 2012 Mildenhall v Dudley (NLPO) 1 3, 3, 2, 6^, 2, X 16 Wed May 26th 2010 King's Lynn v Stoke (PL) 4 1', 2', 2, 0, 6^, 0 11 +2 Tue Aug 10th 2010 King's Lynn v Redcar (PL) 2 0, 1, 3, 2' 6 +1 Wed Aug 18th 2010 King's Lynn v Somerset (PL) 2 0, 1, 2, 0 3 Wed Sep 1st 2010 King's Lynn v Edinburgh (PL) 6 X, 0, 1, 2, 1' 4 +1 Wed Sep 8th 2010 King's Lynn v Birmingham (PL) 6 2', 0, 3, 3 8 +1 Fri Sep 17th 2010 King's Lynn v Glasgow (PL) 6 3, 1', 3, 2', 3 12 +2 Fri Sep 24th 2010 King's Lynn v Newport (PL) (Aban) 6 3 3 Wed Oct 6th 2010 King's Lynn v Rye House (YS) 6 2, 1, 1', 1, 1' 6 +2 Wed Oct 13th 2010 King's Lynn v Newport (PL) 6 R, 1, 0, 0 1 Wed Oct 20th 2010 King's Lynn v Newcastle (PL) 6 3, 2', 1, 1', 1 8 +2
