  1. 10 years ago... nobody denies that it hasn't produced decent racing in the past
  2. Don't think so... Plymouth had a top heavy team at Glasgow last night Worrall, Barker, Howarth, then nothing, racing was excellent!
  3. A good article, something you'd expect to read from a first timer, unaware of all the politics and in fighting... that comes later I do wish Nigel Tolley would stop talking about moving to the Alexander stadium, he loses credibility every time he does!
  4. He was breaking track records at Redcar while the rest of the team (Anders Rowe excepted) were embarrassing themselves in Latvia
  5. Doesn't have to be passing to be a good race though (for me at least)... often a close race with no passing can be as exciting as a race with passing. Passing shouldn't be easy, it should take skill and bravery, that's what makes it exciting (for me). But at Poole, especially last Wednesday generally the "racing" was so spread out and from the gate, the very worst kind of Speedway for me
  6. Was listening to him on the podcast a week or so ago and a couple of times he described himself as a "Winner"... could have been Whinger though I suppose and I mis-heard Love him or hate him, he certainly put many more bums on Sheffield seats last Thursday and there was a real buzz about the place
  7. So it looks like you can have a big home victory AND brilliant speedway racing... just not at Poole it seems
  8. Was really noticeable how the other teams had their "A" management team there and a sprinkling of riders from their senior squad. We had no senior riders and Neil Vatcher. Vatcher should be left to develop the next Simon Lambert's and leave the championship management to the big boys
  9. Any chance of Panther moving to Swindon? There's a perfectly good track with a stadium being built around it an no Speedway team!
  10. Scored between 2 & 4, 4 times in his whole career... unless you mean away from home or are getting him mixed up with Todd Kurtz? 11. Ambulance troubles here at Sheffield too, somebody in the crowd is not well
  12. I also work on contract, I'm contracted until the end of September, I expect it to be extended... I have one days notice on this contract. Nobody will sort my next contract out for me, I'll have to find it myself. That's what being self employed is all about
  13. What's he complaining about... at least he got told by telephone
  14. I wonder why he didn't but that and bought the Shateau instead
  15. I believe a statement about this abandonment will be made in a joint statement also including the arrangements about the Jubilee Trophy final
  16. Bomber as is... or Bomber as you remember him?
  17. I think it's fair to say Cook is a better starter and around Leicester that counts, Richie Worral around Leicester probably about the same as Bomber... which is why it was always about replacing Batch
  18. It's a numbers game isn't it, to replace Batch who wasn't living up to anywhere near his average from the riders available (and/or, happy/willing to ride at Leicester), 2 changes had to be made. This was all brought about by Nick Morris failing to take a drugs test. It's not like Bomber has been left without a club... like Dan Thompson for example
  19. His scoring at Leicester this season has been fine: Chris Harris at Leicester No. Points Total Thu Apr 13th 2023 Leicester v Peterborough (PRa) 4 M, 3, 1', 3, 2 9 +1 Mon Apr 17th 2023 Leicester v Ipswich (PRKO) 4 2', 1', 2, 3 8 +2 Thu Apr 20th 2023 Leicester v Belle Vue (PRa) 4 2, 1', 3, 1 7 +1 Thu May 4th 2023 Leicester v Wolverhampton (PRa) 4 2', 1, 1', 3 7 +2 Mon May 22nd 2023 Leicester v Sheffield (PRa) 4 1, 1', 3, 2 7 +1 Thu Jun 8th 2023 Leicester v Ipswich (PRa) 4 3, 2, 2, 2' 9 +1 Thu Jun 15th 2023 Leicester v Belle Vue (PRb) 4 3, 1, 1', 3, 0 8 +1 Thu Jul 6th 2023 Leicester v Peterborough (PRb) 4 0, 2', 1, 2, 3 8 +1 Mon Jul 17th 2023 Leicester v King's Lynn (PRa) 4 2, 2, 3, 2' 9 +1 Mon Jul 31st 2023 Leicester v Ipswich (PRb) 4 2, 2, 2, 2, 1 9 When did he last do two consecutive matches for the same team in any league to be fair, I've just checked and this season he's only done 1 guest appearance in the CL and 4 in the PL
  20. No problem with that... if the sport wants any kind of loyalty they need to salary the riders, like Football does. He can't have it both ways though... I'm not sure what his beef is to be honest
  21. It's an interesting one isn't it... a rider who has shown zero loyalty to any club he's ridden for over the last few years, has become a running joke in the sport, gets his knickers in a twist because all of a sudden a club decide to do exactly what he's done. His loyalty to British Speedway is not in doubt, be he has absolutely no problem in riding for which ever club calls him up on any given day even if the result of the match may effect the club he is contracted to and captain of
