I was genuinely shocked by the news when I heard it announced on TalkSport last night while travelling back from Scunny. While obviously tragic for his family and friends, it's a pretty dark day for Speedway also. Nigel Pearson had Speedway running through his veins, fan, announcer, presenter, journalist, promoter and most notably commentator and press officer/agent, he'd pretty much done it all on "our side of the fence". He never passed up an opportunity to promote our sport... I was listening to one of his latest projects the other day, the British Speedway podcast and it was coverage of him compering the British Speedway season launch at Belle Vue and he was so positive and I was thinking to myself why are you so bloody positive all the time! But of course that was his job, he knew not everything in the sport was rosy but never really dwelt on it too much. You only have to do a scroll through Twitter to see how highly thought of he was throughout sport in general with some pretty high profile people and organisations expressing their shock and sadness, not so many from the Speedway fraternity I notice, hopefully that'll change when people get to hear this tragic news. The Darts community seem to have been hit pretty hard by it. Obviously most of us on here will remember Nigel for his Speedway commentary, while not everybody's cup of tea, I absolutely loved his commentary style and the "double act" he built with Kelvin Tatum. He was able to inject some enthusiasm and entertainment into even the dullest of races and meetings and let's face it there were a lot of them. He was the modern day "voice of Speedway" with his modern day commentary style and the natural successor to Dave Lanning. For me he'd done the most to promote and elevate our sport in the last 20 years, is irreplaceable and will be deeply missed. Don't Poland run on some of those BH Monday's? So, commercially it should probably be the other way around as the CL has more teams in it they should be running BH Monday's and PL on a Good Friday

Premiership loses out again... Premier adjective first in importance, order, or position; leading.
-
Of course... why on earth would you want to run against your local rivals on what has historically been the day that attracts your biggest crowd of the year because Poole, Scunthorpe, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Redcar are riding. The tail wagging the dog again. Absolute total commercial madness!!!

Didn't they also shaft Lakeside?

It's a shame BSN aren't showing the Oxford match tonight. I would have hoped that as soon as it was announced as a sell out that they may have covered one of the few good news story's from our Sport in the last few years

I'm using TV Bro on Android TV... works a treat
-
We'll see... this is Eurosport we are talking about
-
I don't think they've actually said that have they? They say Eurosport 2 & Discovery+, which you can read any number of different ways. Like when Sky Sports said they would show all the GP's on Sky Sports and then tucked a number of them away on the red button

I think we're talking about the announcement of the development of an app for iOS and Firestick. I was just commenting that Android wasn't mentioned. If you have an Android TV, the Chrome browser is not always an option to be easily installed. I have 2 devices and the Chrome browser is not available from the Google Play store and has to be side loaded with all of the extra hassle that involves. I have found a different solution that works for me, but an app that runs on all Android devices would be nice.

Firestick uses Fire OS I think, an adapted version of Android. Not sure an app designed for Firestick would work for general Android
-
though not for Android

Insurance... for when the French Open Tennis or world tiddly winks championships are on. Eurosport are being very ambiguous with their statements, leaving them room to move the coverage when they see fit

You would hope that the promoters would promote this event as some kind of competition worth winning... rather than just a fixture filler

Tell that to the promotion at Belle Vue, they've got the best track in the world, consistently produces top class speedway racing and yet can't get anywhere close to filling their stadium for a league match with a catchment area of around 2.7 million people -

Doggy, what is she looking for from Speedway?
