AGM news thread for 2025
IainB replied to SuperStarsFan91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Woffy? It'll be interesting to see how it compares to his Wroclaw testimonial. I assume that as he's been granted a testimonial he will be back in the UK next year. -

Because league Speedway is a team sport, not individual or pairs and I think that if the "team" is to get that extra league point then it should be about the team and not a couple of big hitters that have probably already done their job in claiming the super heat anyway... if not why not just make every team league meeting a pairs meeting? It would also help bring riders on and give them experience of pressure situation races.

Polish a turd day?
-
Listening to the podcast the other week they seemed to suggest that Phil Morris had sorted the Polish Thursday situation and that it wasn't going to be an issue... this, of course, remains to be seen.

Pretty sure I heard Martin Vaculik practising again today π
-
I did, when I saw them on my TwitterX news feed

I've thought this since day 1 and this should really be the discussion of this topic. Heat 15 is what it is, it's nominated, heat 13 isn't always guaranteed to be the "best" heat of the night, especially if your number 1 or 5 is having a bad night or gets injured, so leave that alone. The super heat should not involve any riders that have appeared in heat 15 imo, makes it more of a team result.

2025 World championship dates....OFFICIAL
IainB replied to andout's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
So we're now in the situation whereby we have a ridiculous scoring system because the winner of the GP MUST have the most amount of points but that winner could have finished 10th in the qualifying heats! Utter madness! -

Makes it all more of a lottery... meh -
Has anybody mentioned Dayle Wood? If not... Dayle Wood, although he did improve quite a bit in his 2nd year
-
Let's hope the home office don't look at their track record!
-
Approval from who? His mum?
-
Haven't they already got a stake in the Alpine F1 team, I think?
-
It's good to know that Martin Vaculik can still learn a thing or two from Paul Hurry π
-
I could hear a bike around BP today... Vaculik having a trial? π

Bomber not returning to the Spires in 2025 "Speedway is a funny old sport at times, I urge fans of any rider or any club to not look through rose tinted glasses especially this time of year, there is always more to a story, I can confirm my story is going to be a good one one day, but only when I hang up my boots - which wonβt be any time soon." Not sure what he means by that... it's all a bit Eric Cantona π₯π¦

Poole V Oxford. KO Cup Final. 16/17 October 2024

Taxi for @foreverblue -
Between Fricke, Masters, Becker, Lawson & Douglas only 1 match was missed by Douglas last season, which goes a long way towards Lions high league table finishing position I would have thought, it got them to the final but not over the line.

Just pick a sentence from each and re-word, that's what I did, I'm sure the the numbers will help... literally took me 5 minutes

We know that because we see that. What we don't know (we kind of do) is the adverse effect on crowds throughout the year because the johnny come lately glory hunters (ahem @mikebv πππ) come out of the woodwork at pay off time. They've given many other matches a miss during the season because it doesn't really matter if they win or not on any given night.

I'm surprised nobody has posted on here about the recent social media call to arms to fill in the Google Thurrock Data Centre Consultation form. Link here: https://www.thurrockhammers.com/2024-news/urgent-call-to-action-thurrock-data-centre-consultation/

Berwick weren't running 3 leagues though
-
Is a 3 league Oxford operation viable if CL were to run 2H2A? As Oxford have already confirmed operating in all 3 leagues next year either it is viable or 1H1A is going to remain and a lot of clubs will be finishing in August again, despite most people saying that such a situation is ridiculous.

I think you can delete topics you've started yourself... might have to be on the desktop site though
