  1. Unlikely... we all know Poole will want the 2nd leg and will do anything to arrange that 😜
  2. Just caught up with their coverage of Monday night, it was terrible as you'd expect, but they couldn't get off air quick enough, although scheduled to finish at 21:30 they cleared off at 21:00 without speaking to either of the team managers!
  3. But that is exactly what they did this season... so never say never!
  4. Indeed you do, looking at Leicester's 20 point victory in April, which they'll need to replicate, more than half the heats were actually 3-3's!
  5. Not so sure about that, Hagon has been an unmitigated disaster signing, the only reason the fans haven't been on his back is that he was no better or worse than JT, he started off steadily but since the end of July has barely been able to score a single point. Personally I'd be looking at Luke Kileen, I like what I've seen of him
  6. Hmm... yes, we never did get to the bottom of that "injury" did we? 🤔
  7. I think Sedgmen also had that, I'd happily see him back in the team.
  8. He may not improve his average any but you know exactly what you're going to get with him, he's been as solid a rider as I can ever remember seeing and the inconsistency really has been Leicester's weakness this season. Surely he has to be the first name on the team sheet.
  9. Couldn't tell you mate, I don't really use the M69. But all roads are generally a joke after 9:30 pm these days
  10. Yes M6/A50/M1... although God only knows which way I came home last night! I think the A50 was closed and I seemed to be driving down country lanes through the high peaks in the mist! Still did it in 2 hours though
  11. Leicester don't have the DJ Woffy or Holders but they do have very capable riders who can ride Leicester, when prepared suitably, very well... I think the weather will decide the eventual outcome and the weather ain't looking great.
  12. Do they though? They're not even the series sponsor anymore, just a "partner" I don't think they sponsor any particular GP (could be wrong) their visibility at GP's is much less than it used to be, they seem to concentrate their sponsorship on riders these days.
  13. Yes, heat leader winner, just saw that Belle Vue had 3 heat winners at Leicester in April and 5 (and 3 other 3-3's) in July and they still managed to lose by 20! It's about heat advantages not heat winners
  14. Get yourself down there man! What if Lions pulled it off and you're sat on your sofa at home watching some adverts!
  15. I don't think it really matters what time of year you run it, you're always pretty likely to run into some kind of weather in the UK. But I do think it would be wise to perhaps not run your showpiece event less than 24 hours after such an extraordinary weather event especially with 4 and a half weeks left of the season. That said I know there are TV schedules to be adhered to and if Belle Vue wanted to run to take advantage of their home track then that's fair enough I suppose. Unfortunately that's what you're going to get when you run a cup competition to decide a league title. Personally I didn't enjoy it but that was more to do with the fact that Leicester were pretty crap tbh. I thought the way they were celebrating after the semis that was pretty dangerous and the semi victory was their final. If I took my Lions hat off I could see that it would have been pretty entertaining racing wise, the Aces fans seemed pretty entertained. On to Thursday... £240!!!
  16. I fear the damage may already have been done on Saturday, Sunday & Monday when we had an absolute deluge of rain with proper flooding, it's still not really dried up and more is forecast for Wednesday night, Thursday morning. The only way the track will be in normal condition is if it's worked all day today, tomorrow and covered on Wednesday night.
  17. And don't mention the SoN in July! There's a very high likelihood of the weather effecting the pay offs (semis and/or finals) especially as they're televised and more likely to go ahead come what may. Great for the neutral, not so much if your team is involved as at some tracks it can be quite the leveller where as at others a home track advantage can come into play. Generally I think the more technical the track the more level things tend to get, the bigger less technical tracks tend to favour the home riders when the weather gets bad.
  18. There was a parade, that didn't start until 19:31 and they went for add breaks after heats 4 and 7. Only when it started to rain did they pull their finger out. Fair play to the Aces though, no complaints from me, we were beaten by the far better team on the night. It certainly isn't over yet though (53-37 in April, when Lions were crap & 55-35 in July, you lost Dan though) but it will very much hinge on the condition of the track on Thursday night... it doesn't look good for the Lions though. Don't want to single out any particular rider but Fricke has blown very hot and cold this season, he's failed to reach double figures 11 times and I'm not quite sure he's captain material either.
