I thought you only used to have a "facility" if a rider was injured, on FIM duty or doing some compulsory return... there really doesn't seem to be any reason not to have one these days, riders don't even have to be riding in another country just resting up and preparing to ride.

Saturday night speedway 🤔

What a brilliant Speedway meeting! Saturday night, big crowd, great racing, a competitive field, a wild card capable of winning the meeting, knowledgeable and informative commentary (1 of them anyway), proper scoring system and start tarts... it's how the SGP series used to be... I didn't even mind paying for it!

The people who are running the GB Speedway Team seem to have zero interest in staging any test matches in the UK, they do seem quite happy to deplete the domestic clubs of riders to put in mediocre performances abroad throughout the season though.

Apparently he's flying in on Wednesday, practising on Thursday and riding on Friday... as long as he sticks to cans of Red Bull to get over the jet lag and doesn't reach for anything else all should be good.
