  1. Think they're better suited to Motorboating
  2. Riders can only renew/apply for them once they know who their 'sponsor' will be in 2015
  3. So it is not all Elite & Premier matches - purely an illegal stream of the ones Sky choose to show?
  4. Don't see how this can be genuine, where would they be getting footage from?
  5. All this said despite the fact that he went to the extent of streaming live coverage of the Polish Playoffs in 2013. If he really didn't want it shown why would he do that? The FACT is that no broadcaster has been interested in the Sunday afternoon slot. Once again, please don't allow facts to get in the way of your hatred of all things Russell
  6. I'll say it again, if Go Speed see financial benefit from this, as you have said, then the Elite & Premier League will have also.
  7. You appear quite bitter about something that's for sure. With agreements like this, Speedway is only playing catch up on what other Sports have done for some time. Your post strikes me as coming from someone who would prefer that the Sport stood still so that you could park in the same spot at each meeting and stand in the same place at each meeting. You can harp on about attendances falling etc, but the fact is if Speedway keeps doing what is has been doing then it will only ever have what it has already got (at best). Fact is, if Terry Russell has done well out of this, as you have said, then so has British Speedway. Don't let progression get in the way of your rant though
  8. Sky have never paid that much for Sponsorship - that is the estimated amount for the broadcasting rights. I haven't seen any indication that this has dropped significantly from years previous.
  9. I think that info is quite a way wide of the mark. I've seen and heard plenty of the same rumour and it seems to be based only on what Sky have done to some other smaller sports and nothing at all to do with Speedway as I understand
  10. If the Doyle / Visa situation can't be resolved then I can see it being Swindon & Somerset as originally planned. As mentioned above, this means Somerset would be entitled to a guest when Morris is missing rather than R/R when the initial decision to drop Morris was taken. Would still like to see Doyley's issue resolved, after the couple of seasons he has had it would be awful for him to have to miss a year.
  11. To be fair and give them their dues, it sounds like Sheffield did request permission to speak with Nick but were told 'no' as Swindon already have an agreement in place. Doesn't seemed to have stopped them though
  12. The Advertiser were already aware of the story due to the newspaper snippet as mentioned earlier. This had not been put out by Swindon. The Swindon Speedway press release was a 'reaction' to that - as was reported. As you say, it could look a tad premature should he not have the facts. Fortunately this is not the case on this one.
  13. Out of curiosity, what difference to the situation would keeping his mouth shut have made? As I understand, it was being dealt with privately prior to the news appearing in a small snippet in a tabloid newspaper. That news did not come from Swindon. Should Rossiter have kept Robins fans in the dark and pretended everything was rosy to protect the integrity of the Sheffield Promotion?
  14. He can do as he pleases to a certain extent, but B.S.P.A will have the final say. Recall Hans Andersen walking out on Peterborough over unpaid wages some years ago - despite the reasons he still received a 28 day ban. Couldn't just go and sign for another Club straight away.
  15. Indeed, the Clubs themselves are approved to issue Sponsor Certificates to riders. The B.S.P.A are a UKBA Approved Governing Body. A rider will need a Sponsor Certificate issued by the Club, that Sponsor Certificate must be endorsed by BSPA and carry the applicable endorsement reference. Then they can apply for entry clearance (if Overseas at the time of applying) or an extension (if in the UK).
  16. Batchelor has got his in place, stayed in UK up until Christmas to ensure all was in order http://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/speedway/10920013.Swindon_Robins_star_ready_to_chase_leader_Doyle_in_Australian_Championship/
  17. I think there are a few Clubs that do this in the UK, Swindon allow U11's in for Free and then £5 for 11-16. They are however offering a Season Ticket (11-16) for £40, so approx £2 per meeting. I agree with the above, it's important to get the next generation/s involved and into the Sport. The problem I would imagine comes, as philfromcov says, between the ages of 16-18 when they may still be in education and reliant on Parents funding when a full adult price is charged at most tracks. Concessionary rate at some, but still a big jump.
  18. I'm sure there's a point in there somewhere despite a lot of ill informed waffle
  19. To clarify, I don't think a partial refund could ever enter the equation! But they have quite openly promoted that you can give your season ticket to a friend or relative if for any reason you are unable to make a meeting, same as you could feed your mate a spare tomato if he's sat on the sofa doing nothing
  20. Swindon's have been transferrable for several seasons now - I think they take the view that it has been paid for so it doesn't matter if it is passed on to an existing fan
  21. Synikalle, genuine question from when you say that you have tried to do something before it's too late - have you offered your services and expertise in Marketing/Social Media to British Speedway or any of its Clubs?
  22. I'm sure prices could be reduced to Premier League type rates.....oh wait. It has been Elite in name only for some time, same as the Premier again in that regard. I'd like to see a couple more teams move up, but only if it can be afforded. Ipswich moved down and have managed to stabilise by all accounts so wouldn't want to see that work undone. But if the top league (whatever name) is able to become realistic on running cost then there's no reason a couple of the better attended second tier Clubs couldn't make the move. More likely than the one big league we saw in the early-mid 90's
  23. I was only messing TWK. My point being that Clubs aren't hamstrung by the authorities, they are hamstrung by contracts that they have entered into and have been readily paid for.
