  1. Indeed, collapse the Leagues and just let any Billy Big Balls that fancies their hand at promoting events sort out a few meetings a year And yet some still don't see why the B.S.P.A/SCB would want to stand in the way of such an innovative idea.
  2. Or worse still, if this was allowed to go through, what's to stop current 'Promoter' from thinking, "hang on, I quite fancy running a series of 5 or 6 meetings rather than committing to a full season, I'll lose much less dosh!". Could cause the collapse of the whole league set up, so correct decision and stance has been taken in my eyes.
  3. I'm fairly sure that there is an 8 day rule applicable to an away teams choice of guest - so DW would be correct in that they cannot use anyone from Ipswich, Rye House or Leicester.
  4. I think Zodiak's comment was pretty spot on, and as has been said, the Birmingham fans and Kings Lynn fans have enjoyed the NsEL as you put it, and Ipswich fans seemed to have enjoyed the nothingPaboutitL. Everyone's a winner. Has Sedgmen been mentioned as a possible signing for the Witches anywhere? A talented rider who needs to be full time in PL to get his confidence back, I reckon a good Club like Ipswich would be ideal for him for 2012
  5. Glad this has been shuffled. For info, I don't believe GSI have anything to do with the Grand Prix
  6. I agree that they would survive without the British. It is going to be interesting to see how this all unfolds. If PZM are banning riders with a Polish License from racing in foreign leagues, then Poland could end up an all Polish League with no Brits, Swedes, Danes etc etc. Now whilst all of these riders, of course, will want to be racing in Poland, the banning of riders from racing in foreign countries can work both ways. As has been said, a Club in Sweden has recently been closed down due to noise issues so I can see them wanting to stick with the new silencers. Another of Speedway's very own soap operas could be unfolding!
  7. Facts normally have to be correct mate. Parts in bold may need re-visiting
  8. I thought it was a fair enough question. As far as I'm aware, Clubs do not pay an entry fee to the leagues year on year. An amount is lodged with BSPA and held in case of things going t**s up, but I don't think there's an annual fee to be paid. You obviously know a fair bit about the sponsorship side of things, that I am not questioning. But on the other side of the fence... Who has the race suits made? Did BSPA want sponsorship rights to the whole race suit? Or was it just a small part? Who pays the travel/accommodation etc for the World Cup? Do BSPA actually make anything out of the British GP as you refer to? Genuine questions, as I like to look at both sides of any argument.
  9. Do the riders pay for their own suits? If so I can understand them being unhappy
  10. I feel fairly confident that the Swindon Promotion will put Sedgy in the side on a full time basis if it came to it, possibly with a view to a Premier slot opening up further down the line
