  1. I've just stuck it on WWOS, M8! If you don't know how to get there ask Schumi, she's a helpful soul (Bearded Biker Cookbook indeed!)
  2. I've bin up the Razzle guzzling cheap Crownies watching the Vics flog Tassie in 20/20! I wouldn't expect anything intelligent M8! Inga broke me heart, not to mention doing serious damage to several major ligaments, I'm afraid. Haven't seen Lunchy since Mt G. Better luck next dorm!
  3. My record stands at 45:33:10 - its a long track and I got bogged down at the Bar!! I don't think the World is ready for reports of Whales surfacing at the track! Incidentally lest we forget Newcastle suffered heavy flooding in June last year - the Showgrounds was under 1 metre of water and the safety fence was partially demolished, and the roof on the main stand was blown away. Today when I visited the track the Main stand is now Air-conditioned!! (i.e. there's not much ******* roof left!!) Plus the Gov't and the local council chipped in to rebuild the fence for nix!!
  4. Be afraid, Swedebasher, be very afraid!! I'm in Newcastle today, the TPTtourists are due tomorrow, then after Round 4 they return to Sydderney via the Birthplace of speedway, Maitland! Busy working on a few surprises for them! In case you weren't aware I'm a reasonably cheap kinda guy; I'm staying down at the local Backpackers, the room's not the best but the scenery's ******* terrific!! Gotta go, Inga from Sveden's hangin' out to see me - ALL of me!!
  5. Whiile we're on the subject, the Oztourists will find out one of the added bonuses of travelling with TPT when they hit Newcastle tomorrow, as fixture promotor Graeme Boyd has a little surprise for them!
  6. ...and that's me best side!!! Its just a matter of beauty bein' in the eye of the Beholder!
  7. G'day Sue, hope you're enjoying the Tour!! If you're one of those who like to know who they're talking to check this out! that'a Spiderweb on the left, the beardless wonder is he of the nimble texting fingers Sir Lunchalot, and the bucket of lard in the middle sorry the Rose between two Thorns is Yours Truly! Not a pretty sight, eh, but now you know who to avoid!
  8. G'day Chopper; sorry we missed you, we were up at the top of Turn 1 with a few Pomgolians! No heavy beer in cans so alas we were forced to drink Bundy. I had to split before the ceremonies sad to say, had to help round up the tourists and herd them back to their pens. Couldn't agree more about the 350's, M8, they were only a few seconds slower than the big boys plus the obvious benefit is that when the boys are old enough they can turf the 350 motor, drop in a 500 and away they go. We'll miss them up at Newcastle; can't wait to see what they've got organised. Best of luck in Perth for the Under-16's, its a ****** long way to go so hopefully it'll be worth while. Say hello to the Sedgeman Bros for us! (Oh, and watch out for Ozyace, man after me own heart, doubtless he'll attempt to lead you astray! Meanwhile I'm in Melbourne en route to the North; lets hope the weather clears up as the Showgrounds is a great Circuit, and fingers crossed we'll get Four-Lappers up there as well. It was fantastic to see 'em at Mt G: a great circuit that deserves a decent race distance. See you then.
  9. Doin' me best cobber; there's a coupla good drinkers here
  10. G'day m8! Yep, its about 10k east of town. Not a bad night last night; the racing hotted up in the second half of the program. The support races of the 350's were worth the price of admission alone, Oz is blest with some great emerging talent. Good to see tom hedley getting back in the groove; if it wasn't for an IMHO dubious refereeing decision to exclude him in his second ride he could have made the A main, as it was a second to Cam in the B main was well-deserved. He goes better on the bigger tracks; looking forward to Newcastle where he shone last year. Joe Screen is a -set legend, no ifs or buts. Once again he showed the youngsters the way home and the race with Chris and Freddie was a ripper, Chris's finish of third his worst in the comp so far. The curse of jacket 14 struck again with Richard Sweetman's injury of a suspected wrist fracture the only downer of the day. All up a great meeting, if not quite as good as Gillman; that one was really one out of the box! We're off along the coast to Melbourne today; another chance to drink a few Poms under the table!!
  11. Should be good fun at Mt Gambier tonight; its a high-banked track similar to the old Shay Stadium. Geez I tell you what, some of these Poms already know how to drink, I didn't even hafta teach 'em!! 38 - 39 this arvo but it'll cool down quite a bit tonight. No breeze so it'll be pleasant, looking forward to some more leg-trailing from a certain Pomgolian rider.
  12. Morning all! A marvellous night of racing in front of an appreciative and knowledgeable Crowd, marred only by Travis's fall - looked very nasty but he was awake after a few minutes of deathly silence from the crowd and fingers crossed he's ok although he may be doubtful for round 3 at Mt Gambier on Saturday. Promoter/Announcer/Chief Spruiker David Tapp did a great job keeping everyone informed without inflaming the situation. Other than that a great evening and a marvellous advertisement for Oz Speedway in general and the Gillman club in particular. The meeting went off with hardly a pause from the moment the great white ball in the sky (thats the Sun, for all you Poms - remember?) dipped below the horizon at about 8:30 - over three dozen action-packed races in classes from peewees thru juniors and up-and-comers right up to the main event. Joe Screen turned on a masterclass in Entertainment with a Capital "E" - fully justifying the decision to invite him out here. Gillman is a true racer's track and it was a joy to watch Joe come to grips with the many racing lines it offers. After an opening race third to the incredible Chris Holder, whose winning time of 56.60 was only milliseconds off the lap record held by The Man From You-Know-Where, his heat 7 battle with Troy, Jason and Freddie was a delight to behold, and he just got better from then on. The evening was significantly cooler and that seemed to help - he had to work hard to stay warm, a big change from Mildura where he threatened to end up as a puddle of sweat! He'll really enjoy the highly-banked sweeping bends of Mt Gambier. Best heat of the night IMHO was Heat 14 where Cam, Travis, Jason & Trevor battled it out over four action-filled laps, places changing hands throughout until Jason pulled away on the last circuit. After the long wait the two finals were both gripping affairs well worth the price of admission. Troy tried his guts out in the "A" but Chris is just too good around Gillman, while in the "B" Cam's determination nearly paid off, but Freddie's class kept him in front. I hope I haven't made you too jealous (heh, heh!). Congratulations to Lunchy and Ron not forgetting Aussiegal over in Little Britain for keeping youse all informed; I did me best but alas I'm embarrassed to admit I was unable to drink the track dry. if you start saving now we'll see ya next year! Seeya! BFD.
  13. He is the genuine article, Pollyanna. He openly admits Mildura (there's that word again) is not really that high up on his list of favourite tracks, but from his opening ride it was evident he was a man on a mission; he came out of the blocks like a rocket, led into turn one and by the end of the first lap he was a straight ahead. Only race he lost was v Freddie when Freddie was in white and Chris yellow; only win out of yellow all night was Troy in the B main. Last year at Gillman he ended up on the podium 3rd behind Crumpy (2nd) and The Man from Mildura!, so tonight should be a ripper, with Filip having ridden here before and Freddie quickly coming to terms with our tracks I'm looking forward to some great duels. I'm a bigfat Rooboy fan as you may be aware; (He is a Territorian after all!) looking forward to seeing Chris & Rory carry on Oz's hopes in SGP; IMHO its a toss of the coin to see which one becomes our next World Champ, after Leigh in 2008 and Jason again in 2009 of course!
  14. ( SSTC DOWNUNDA continued)....the touring party has hit Adelaide, no-one's been bitten by a snake yet. Just as a ferrinstance of the service you get from TPT: some members of the group alas had to cut their trip short due to illness back home: instead of being able to party on with the crew in Sydderney, Brian & Alan worked their collective Butts and phoning fingers off to ensure that all their flights and bookings were re-organised with the minimum of effort on their behalf and (despite earlier threats and forebodings) at no extra cost. Lets hope everything's OK for them back in the UK.
  15. ,,,and who'd ya think was holding Lunchy's Bundy while he kept Ron informed? Hardly spilt a drop by the way apart from the few litres that miraculously migrated to my Gullet! Incidentally Sue I had nothing to do with Lunchy's TXT to ya, Honest! Its not often that I agree with Senor Shoveller, but don't forget the BSF here as well for all the enjoyment that's provided to us gratis.
  16. Spot on Diesel! The Bloke/Sheila/Thing's obviously never heard of Commercial -in-Confidence. If He/She/It? wants to find out Profit Margins maybe he should set up his own company and try for himself. Meanwhile, Downunder in Adelaide, where yesterday was a balmy 43C, a certain local interpreter is lurking in the shadows......(to be continued)
  17. Couldn't agree more Ghostie! Not the cheapest but DILIGAF? Just like to add the beer was Ice-Cold and the Crumpet was wall-to-wall!
  18. Morning all! A night to remember at Mildura after a warmish (42C) day - luckily Lunchy & I kept on working at keeping our fluid levels topped up to avoid Dehydration! When we arrived at the track practise was just kicking off - doncha love the Smell of Speedway?! News on Taylor Poole late in the evening was that its not as bad as first feared but lotsa bruising will make sure he remembers it every time he breathes for a little while! Get well Real Soon Bloke! Really was a bad prang (anything that can bust the fence at Mildura has gotta be bad) - Taylor was on an outside line going into turn one and just seemed to turn right straight into the fence, maybe trying to avoid Justin Segdeman who kummagutza on the inside of him. The 350's were great entertainment apart from that; congratulations to all concerned -pity they're not running them at Gillman but we'll see 'em again for sure at Mt Gambier. (Just checking I haven't mentioned "Mildura" too many times yet!) Anyhow, the men from Mildura erm....North-western Victoria gave us a great show last night; the standard of racing was right up there as befits our national championship, and the meeting ran smoothly with only a coupla minor glitches. The Crowd was down on last year's record as was only to be expected with so many top guns (Leigh, Crumpy, Rooboy, Davey, flyin' Ryan etc) either taking a well-earned break or financially hamstrung - this meant that despite our best efforts the track didn't run out of Beer or Bundy, although we certainly gave it our best shot! Off to Timmis Speedway tonight for some 4 wheel action then its onwards to Adelaide, and a bit of Pommy-baiting! - see ya!
  19. If you can wait 'til 2009 I'd recommend the Australian GP! (Fingers Crossed, IMG willing) Nearest decent accommodation is a fair way away, but its a great racetrack.
  20. Just heard that the meet & greet at Mildura on Friday night has been moved from the Brewery Bar to the clubhouse, rider jacket presentations plus Leigh Adams will be getting a special presentation from Mildura Council. As long as they haven't cancelled the Finger Food, I haven't had a decent finger in ages!
  21. Update on the Tom Hedley tootsies - he's O.K. - Phew!
  22. ...Weather Forecast for Mildura, Fine, WARM TO HOT! Still raining, Bryn, or can't you see through the Fog?
  23. f-s-p, you are a ******* legend! Compliments of the Season, BFD
