Well put Macca, as another Geriatric Ol' Fart I remember the Russkis in the 60's with fondness - they were Entertainers, something that's missing a lot from Speedway these days.
The good thing about Reading SWC was the rain on Saturday morning drenched the track and got rid of the Blue Line for the Final. Danes certainly have a thing about riding for their country though, pity they forgot about everyone else! Hopefully there's some SHALE at Brandon!
I take it the "W" stands for "WHOOOOPS!!"? Either that or the boys are worn out. Fitting end to the week I'd say and obviously uniting all the competitors. I'm sure many life-long friendships have been formed - can only be good for speedway. The sooner the Poms get involved the better all round.
Looking forward to the Play-off and Final on a decent track with decent Safety Equipment. Don't think I'll be hanging out for the Highlights ( ?) of this one!
Ta for the scores boys Well Done Taylor & Sam and everyone who took part, and Congratulations to Anders Mellgren - a few names to watch out for down the track.
If anybody wants that little bit in the top left-hand corner of our flag they're more than welcome.
As far as calling yerself "England" goes wouldn't that upset yer Cornish Neighbours a little?
Don't know if TPTours are running a trip to Coventry for the B Qualifier but there'll be a few going to Vojens for the clash of the Champs then on to Polska I'm sure!! Half yer Luck, Two Minute Warning, keep us posted.
Go OZ!!
Well done Rooboy - Two Aussies in the Final! Goodonya Rory & Johnno - 3rd & 4th at 2007 Ozchamps - good form continues.
Many thanxx to Tomas & Speedway Slovenia for the Updates - much appreciated in our Colonial backwater.
Yer a Dead-set legend, Bloke! Incidentally, you weren't one of them Drunken Slovenians with an Aussie flag I met at Lonigo last year were ya? The ones that were trying to get me plastered on cheap Vino? - never heard of the expression "Bottomless Pit" I reckon!!
Goodonya again M8, I'll have a beer for ya on the weekend.
