Hi there. A look at the Speedway Star for that week confirms Stoke did win 43-35. The heat details published show the following error in Iris 123 details. Ht 8: Bodie (2nd), Sharp (3rd) - Its does not change the match result. 2nd half Final - Jarman, Squibb, Adams, Pratt (yes they did publish the second half details in those days !) Hope this clears up the mystery.

No go with any of these ! With the exception of the 1965 Glasgow match none of the heat results were published in the Speedway Star (Quite a common occurance in those days). Regarding the Glasgow meeting, no 4th place riders were printed in the Stars report. Sorry I can't help.

The 1960 Stoke V Sheffield heat details were never published in the Speedway Star. Will check for the 1961 heat details shortly.

I will dig out my back issues of the Speedway Star and will get the heat details in the next couple of days.

I have managed to secure a Bed and Breakfast in Cardiff for the British Grand Prix weekend later this month. After a review of my Speedway Stars, I've now noticed that I missed the Rye House V Stoke match raced on 2 August 1981. Does anybody has the heat details and times please ? Have managed to obtain the Middlesboro/Belle Vue and Boston/Stoke details. Fingers crossed !

Yes there is plently of land around the Vauxhall Factory and not many nearby houses too ! Depending on who owns the land this could be a possibility. Any wantabe promotors around ?

I am trying to obtain the heat details for every league and Cup match ridden since 1965. I now need just two matches to complete the project. Does anybody have the details for the following matches or know somebody that will have them ? They are : Middlesbrough V Belle Vue Colts 18/7/1968 Boston V Stoke (KOC) 4/5/1980 I recently appealed in the Speedway Star for missing details and managed to obtain 5 of my "wants" but nobody seems to have the heat results the above matches.
