  1. I have a 40/45 minute journey so not quite as long as you but would hope most weeks to be done 7pm / or 7.15 on a late one and home by 7.45/8pm - would have thought 9 o'clock for you to be the exception. Personally would have preferred a 6 or 6.30 start but I do see the problem for parents like yourself. Be interesting to know how many children attend Newcastle meetings as I believe their regular race night and time is also Sunday around 6.30/7. Equally Kings Lynn who are a week(school) night track not starting until 7.30/7.45 I believe - not been myself this season (first in years that I have not) anyone know what their child attendance is like?
  2. That's neither one or the other! But: I call that afternoon - don't have lunch till 2/3 so would have preferred 6 or 7 start to watch as many meetings as possible under floodlights - not a fan of daytime racing.
  3. I won't hold my breath on that one - hasn't made a very good job of running his own club this season!
  4. If Brady could ride the Eoes like the previous season Alan he would be fantastic as No. 1 and I agree don't think he's quite ready for the El full time yet - he still very young. As much as I have always liked Rory it really concerns me as to his fitness and ability to compete after such bad injuries - a huge risk in my opinion which I don't think we can afford to take. Not overly keen on your other suggestion either - try again please!
  5. Yes to those two but would also love to see some Aussies - well one would be good! Aussies have never taken long in the past to suss out the fastest way round the Eoes.
  6. Sorry but this post is not relevant to this thread.
  7. To some extent I agree with your points Mad Max but what annoys me (and has done for many seasons now) is the cut off dates being so early in the PL when we have no Sky schedule to consider and the season does not end until 30th October. I realise some will point to weather problems as a possibility later into autumn but not any worse than March and some years a lot better.
  8. Well he was very upset about something this evening. Couldn't speak to Craig trying to interview him at the end of the meeting.
  9. Does anyone know if it's normal pricing for entry to just the Workington meeting at 5pm? Don't think I will be able to make both and doubt any Worky fans want to pay extra to watch both.
  10. Think it should now read something like this: Cook Morris ANDERS THOMSEN Busk-Jacobsen Ostergaard Holub DANNY HALSEY
  11. If Halsey can stay on for more than one lap out of three attempts and come last he will have surpassed Phillips efforts last night. I know nothing much of him other than he rides for Mildenhall which is a completely different track to the EoES so we shall see.
  12. You obviously know more than I but at the end of the day if that is so Ged is running a Sports Club involving adults not a Kindergarten. Far better face to face than a phone call or text. I do have sympathy for Emil and Tom and really wish both could have discovered their earlier form but they and fans could see it just wasn't happening.
  13. That's a relief! No need to worry about him for 2017. Thanks for the heads up!
  14. Highly unlikely Ulrich's will be going anywhere IMHO. Ps. And he's not - posted my comment while still reading previous pages.
  15. I think BOTH - he has given both Emil and Tom plenty of time to try to regain their form and last night he announced the changes "with their permission" as he wanted them to be applauded by the crowd for their efforts this season not just disappear into the sunset after the night was concluded. Never seen it before but it was good to see so many go to shake their hands or give them a hug. They ar both great lads and I really hope will return to the Panthers lair one day.
  16. Thank you very much for doing that - really kind of you. Unlikely to be able to this late in season (and with a holiday booked already) but will do as you suggest next year if we decide to come up.
  17. Thank you for your response - not at all surprised at the reply to your query re dietary requirements which is why I haven't even bothered to contact them myself. I fully expected that to be the case but I am sure I will survive without trips to the NSS. There are plenty of other tracks and I have never had this problem before in over 40 years of attending and thankfully my home circuit at the Eoes is not restrictive like Belle Vue. As for its title of "National" stadium since the first time I read that I thought it was laughable - sadly it has proved to be very much so!
  18. Well said and my grievance is not financial but rather from a health perspective. My partner and I are both Diabetic (he has to carry suitable food and drink at all times and cannot go as long as 3 hours without). My sister in law is Gluten Free (something which seems to be on the increase judging by the amount of products now on sale in most Supermarkets). Most restaurants and pubs we all go to are very helpful and obliging when made aware of our dietary requirements but you really cannot expect a stadium or its vendors to be in a position to do so. Even the Millenium stadium for GP's were very accommodating when we explained our situation and showed the products and Consultant's letter he always carries. If it's good enough for them and Airports when we travel it certainly should be for Belle Vue stadium but we dare not risk it - a four hour drive to be faced with such problems followed by a four hour trip home again is not worth the risk.
  19. Correct and how many times has this happened before - we never learn!
