  1. I doubt he will build a track/stadium within 45m of Swindon, more likely he will try to appeal the planning condition that says the stadium must be built. In 5, 10, 15 years down the line he will claim that speedway is no longer a viable sport in or around Swindon and therefore there is no longer a need for a speedway stadium. Whether the council will have much fight in them in 5, 10, 15 years time, I have my doubts. Terry Russel has taken the money(just like he took loads of money out the sport for brokering a tv deal), he has been lying for a long time and is just as bigger a crook as Osbourne.

  3. Jake Allen got injured mid way through last season probably contributed to his current average of 6.30, his previous 4 seasons in CL he has averaged between 7 and 8. He did seem to lack some of his old speed last year maybe his engines weren't up to standard. Jakes only 27 I doubt his average is on the slide yet.
  4. Its a little annoying the Poles can't say which day the meeting is on, something to do with tv scheduling probably.
  5. Poole don't look special to me but if riders aren't performing they will be ruthless and splash the cash on some foreigner on a 5point average.
  6. 1. Glasgow 2. Scunny 3. Redcar 4. Poole 5. Plymouth 6. Edinburgh 7. Oxford 8. Berwick 9. Birmingham
  7. Scunny's advantage comes from having a team full of racers, they score points at home and suffer away. Scunny suits the racers, you can have the right set up but you still have to be balls out committed to score the points.
  8. Why is Vissing on a 5 point average?

  10. Not helping the cause, probably just adds weight to the argument that speedway is unviable in Swindon.
  11. British riders get a 2.5% average reduction.
  12. I concur Douglas 9.36 M.P.Toft 6.76 J.Allen 6.3 S.Lambet 5.20 C.Mountain 4.72 Z. Kennedy 4.27 J.Thompson 3 total 39.61 Decent team IMO Mountain, Kennedy and Allen could put something on their average. I can't see Douglas, M.PT, Lambet average dropping, not sure about Joe Thompson.
  13. I think the championship should be weakened, weed out the elderly number 1s who double up making good money scoring double figures 4 times a week. They should be replaced youths out the NL. The second division never used to have so much doubling up, it was more amateurish with many riders having second jobs outside of speedway, I think a rider should only get so many years doubling up ( to aid their development) before they should have to choose their league. The CLRC has become pathetic now the riders all double up and don't care much for the league.
  14. I take your point on the stand alone NL teams not being able to survive on their own. But at the same time there will be 3 weak teams in CL that don't make the playoffs, there must be a good chance these same teams don't progress in the KOC or the other the other cup. That's a total of 11 fixtures which could spell a very early end to the season. The problem with the cup competitions is some clubs will get rain offs and they will reschedule the rematch for latter in the season but this leaves other clubs waiting to see who their opponents are and unable to fill the gaps in their fixture list. Whereas if it were just '2 home and away' you get a much easier to arrange/schedule fixture list with fewer gaps. Every team should be able to get their 16home meetings in before the end of August(5 blank/spare weeks for rain offs), 4 best teams complete the playoffs completed before October.
  15. Should have gone 2 home and away and scraped the other competitions. The play offs should be top 4 none of this mini league stuff. I bet the unsuccessful teams will be finished in August and the Successful ones will be struggling to complete their fixtures before November.
  16. Well said. What happened to the Cardiff track enquiry to reassure fans they have learned lessons.
  17. So Terry Russell, who rumoured to take a million for brokering a tv deal has also suspiciously given up on Blunsdon and is working with Clarke Osborne to find a new home for Swindon. The BSPA should release a statement distancing themselves from this man.
  18. Can't say I am thrilled at the signing. Joe's past scores at EWR......... 0, 0, 1, 6, 1, 3.
  19. I wouldn't believe a word Terry Russell says, he's probably sunning himself in the Caribbean burning his way through the Gaming International bung.
