  1. Looking forward to my first Czech SGP, hopefully weather forecast is correct as supposed to dry up tomorrow and Saturday
  2. Ashley Birks and Matt Williamson confirmed as last 2 places http://www.scunthorpetelegraph.co.uk/Ashley-Birks-pick-left-returns-Scunthorpe/story-20361930-detail/story.html
  3. Been to Swedish GP in Gothenburg twice and on both occasions stayed at First Hotel G. Airport bus drops you straight off next door to the hotel and its also just over the road from the shopping centre so everything close to hand. Ullevi is about 10 mins walk away and city centre restaurants like Hard Rock etc again 10 mins walk. As for seating at Ullevi I had seats just off turn 4 and they had a great view and for practice watched from 2nd turn which was as good a view, don't think really there is a bad seat in the stadium unless it rains :-)
  4. Looking at booking to go to this GP as always fancied doing one of the Polish rounds, does anyone know if there is scheduled to be any Eskstraliga or Division 1 matches on the next day??
  5. I know it's if's and but's but what happens then say April/May time and one of the riders say Darcy Ward has a stinker of a start on Poland and the Torum management dump him which isn't beyond the realms of reality with the way the Polish teams seem to go about things will the SGP brigade then bring in the rider as a permanent wildcard for the rest of the series? Cna see some lawyers making some ££ out of the current situation with the PZM and SGP

  8. That has to be the worst line up for the SGP Challenge yet, not really one of the riders would set the world on fire more like a spoilers meeting rather than a challengers meeting. I know it's all about riders qualifying to get there but surely the likes if Darcy Ward, Troy Batchelor, Grigory Liguta and Thomas H Jonnason should be in the line up rather than riders who have been there done that and won no t-shirts.
  9. Hi Ghostwalker I think the issue is us Brits struggle with our own language never mind mastering another countries, if you were to ask the vast majority of us Brits to either write or read a sentence in Swedish you would just get a load of blank faces  wish I could read/write in another language as well English
  10. After the dodgy weather conditions for this years Swedish GP at Ullevi in Gothenburg there was a lot of discussions about next years moving event moving possibly to Stockholm to a covered stadium, but wonder if this link is correct at this shows as it remaining at Ullevi on 26th May? http://www.ullevi.se/speedway/
  11. Got it working on http://www.drhtv.com.pl/transmisja-3588.html
  12. Thanks Alan, not working for me as says channel has been removed for copyright reason
  13. Now that the date for the British GP has been confirmed can does anyone know when the dates for the other rounds are usually confirmed? I thought that it was normally October/November? Just wondering so that I can start looking at flights/hotels as been cheaper recently to do a foreign GP rather than travel to and stay over in Cardiff
  14. Saw the Golden Helmet match race in my first ever meeting. Was in August 1981 Halifax v Hull with a the Golden Helmet between Kenny Carter and Gordon Kennet, KC won 2-0 and I think that was the first time he held it and then saw him beat quite a few riders over the next few seasons to retain or regain it, camn only ever remember seeing KC loose it once at the Shay and that was against Michael Lee in 1983 a feww weeks before the Norden World Final, Mike the Bike was flying that night
  15. Another SGP yawnfest. Tony Olsson has morphed into Ole Olsen with the dodgy track prep
  16. Went to practice yesterday, track looked smooth but slick could be a 'he who gates wins' meeting. Greg Hancock, Emil Sayfutdinov, Freddie Lindgren looked the fastest of the guys. THJ didn't come out in his last two rounds of practice but I did notice in the pits beforehand that one of his bikes was misfiring. Bomber was trying all the lines whereas a the majority were keeping it tight on turn 4. Weather is sunny here at the moment so fingers crossed for some action later at Ullevi
  17. The weather is hopefully decent for saturday in Gothenburg sat in Manchester T3 on a lovely Friday morning and looking forward to see some speedway this weekend
  18. Most of the weather websites now seem to be showing rain Friday afternoon but dry on Saturday. Really looking forward to my first overseas GP and hope that my flight from Manchester in the morning is nice and smooth!!
