Good to see Sheffield finally get an away win this season, decent away following as well. Chris Holder rolling back the years. -
Northampton Foxes v Sheffield Tigers Thurs 18th June

Suppose with Morris giving away Thursday’s as one of UK’s nights to Poland we’re starting to see the impact it’ll have with weakened teams becoming more regular. Just wonder where the the influx of all these riders form continent that Morris said would happen by giving this race night away are ? -
If we did move Rowe on I just can’t see who we’d bring in, no point going down the route of those riders we’ve tried and tested (and got rid of on more than one occasion), nobody in Championship without a team place would strengthen us so down to a newbie from Europe where you don’t know what you’re getting, difficult one if promotion are looking

Tigers vs Aces 25/05/2026 19:30 PL R1
Jez replied to IainB's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Good win to end up with the bonus point last night after a poor performance in the earlier fixture (exception of Chris and Josh). Jack, Leon and Jye definitely stepped up when needed. Still a worry re Rowe, shows no commitment to anything other than inside third of the track which is fine in ht1 but rest of the meeting he just gets dropped for pace. Not sure if he just won’t listen to advice from Steady or it’s mind set thing, as to be fair to Freddie Hodder last night he soaked up what was being told tomorrow him by manager and team mates and was out there riding all lines on track and keeping those with more top league experience honest -
Hadn’t realised that all Premiership teams were riding tomorrow, that definitely makes guest choices narrower!
-
Unfortunate for Leicester as Dan has been riding well so far in 2026. If they do t have many meetings in the next 4 weeks then imagine R/R and home and for away meetings see who is available guest wise if management think R/R not the right choice away from home

Has there been any news on when Sheffield P&P is taking place? Seen a few other tracks announce theirs on socials
-
Wow only just caught up on this 😮. That would be a massive shock (and risk) if Woffinden was back to start the 2026 season in Tigers kevlars. I would have thought Chris Holder, Pickering and Etheridge would have been the final 3 pieces of the team jigsaw, sure we’ll find out in coming days/weeks what route the promotion have gone down.
-
I’d prefer Pickering to Brennan too, especially based on form around Owlerton
-
Great start to the 2026 team building, hopefully we see a few more familiar faces back at Owlerton in the coming day and weeks, with maybe the odd new Tiger as well. Obviously we’ll need a new Rising Star for 2026, is Steelers Luke Harrison going to get the nod?
-
Well that’s good news coming out of tonight’s STAARS meeting, hopefully we start to hear some team news in the coming days and weeks 😄

What will 2026 UK speedway bring?
Jez replied to Lionsman66's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Hope you’re right, been a long ass process for decisions to be made and communicated! -
Would prefer that “around the corner” to be by the end of this week. Need to know if I’m buying a season ticket at Sheffield or spending the ££ elsewhere 🤞
-
Thought we might have seen an update by now on Sheffield by the club based on their message last week. Hopefully we hear something positive by the end of the week 🤞
-
All pretty quiet on the Sheffield front for 2026 which I’m taking as a positive that we will be running in 2026, no continual messages from the club about those interested in buying to contact the club like in previous times. Hopefully pre AGM the club confirms its intentions and can then get on with rider announcements

Workington Comets v Glasgow Tigers 23/08/2025 3pm.
Jez replied to topaz325's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
First trip to Workington’s new home, great venue, really impressed its definitely got room for growth. As for today’s racing it was really hampered by an ultra slick powdery surface which the water just couldn’t adhere to and soak in so was simply back to being dry and dusty in minutes. The inside line was the place to be for the vast majority of races. Impressive performances from Fraser Bowes and Anti Voulas, with good back up from Jye Etheridge and Jacob Hook. As for Glasgow the just couldn’t get out of the gate, Kyle Howarth was always there or thereabouts in his 5 races resulting in winning ht15 and spoiling the two home riders maximum hopes. It'll have been said before but sure this venue would benefit from floodlights and have evening meetings under lights where the moisture will start coming up naturally rather than battling with the heat and wind during the afternoon meetings, but it’s a track I’ll come back to again -
First time seeing Vilads Nagel live last night, very impressive, looked fast all night, great style to go with it too
-
Hopefully people don’t expect too much from Will Cairns it’s a massive step from NDL racing coming into the Premiership even if it’s only the one guest appearance. He made competitive debut for Zielona Gora on Tuesday in U24 league and scored 0 from his 5 rides, so that should put things into a little perspective

Seems an age since the last home match v Ipswich, might have to programme the sat nav in to get me there! 😁 Hopefully some good racing and a home win to come away with the 3 points on offer

Birmingham v Sheffield Mon 16th June PL

I’d say the two guests make us slightly stronger at Birmingham, just need a similar performance to last Thursday -
Ipswich vs Sheffield Thursday 12th June
Jez replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Not been on BSF for quite a bit but have to say there was some really good racing from the off last night at Foxhall. The Sheffield lads looked a lot more on it after a couple of below par performances and unlucky to come away with no league or bonus points
