2015 Speedway Gp Challange
severnsider replied to OveFundinFan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Now 10pm local start. There was lighting for the GPs a few years ago so assume still there. Later picture of Sportowe Fakty seems to show the floods have gone -
The Most Secret Speedway Meeting Ever
severnsider replied to Grand Central's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Think reserves are Kildemand, Prz Pawlicki & Sundtrom with Kildemand already replacing Hampel -
Based on the reported prize money they don't really pay anymore. SEC reportedly pays on points whereas SGP pays on position. Only really get a little bit more in the middle of the pack though think BSI also pay the riders some travel money. Having said that i think a few of the riders are getting some extra payments in addition to the points money, even though not admitted, to support SEC

The meeting will be on YouTube either tomorrow or Monday given the usual speed that meetings appear (null)

The was some confusion about that statement as it was from Ciegelski and not directly from PZM according to the comments section underneath the report -

Yes he said that they were laying the track earlier. I assume this is due to the problems with the track in Warsaw and at Cardiff a couple of years ago

Swc Final 2015
severnsider replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Was fantastic meeting with some dodgy moves. Good decision to restage after weather yesterday. I saw the motox gp2 race on TV earlier. Was extremely wet track where no one could see after 1st turn. Lot of riders crashed, took off goggles and pitted for new goggles. They ended mostly riding to finish so not good spectacle -
Jarek was going to Poznan to have an operation on his leg. Would expect him to be out for a long time as double fracture and reports it was a spiral fracture too

There was some hassle when Poland replaced Walasek in a final as claimed ill or hurt after he hadn't scored in the final at Leszno a few years ago and I think this led to the change in the rules on reserves. The change to 4 riders from 5 was either costs or to make it more competitive depending on what you believe

Tampere Gp
severnsider replied to ProudtobeaBrummie's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I assumed that a large part of the building cost was covered by the sale of the old stadium site which has been converted into a large shopping centre. -

Not a classic weekend in Poland either. No passing in either of the two TV meetings, delays in Gorzow caused by issues in first bend, tape issues in Grudziadz, Wroclaw & Rzeszow -

I said at start that started going back to leagues after watching the sgp coverage in the earlier part of the post you copied -

I think I remember it correctly but there were critical comments in the Speedway Star about the slowness of the original response on the SGP site and the response to the calling off. Something along the lines of 48 hours to respond wasn't good enough etc. No longer have that week to check as it gets passed on to relatives. Regarding some of the comments I got back in to watching speedway and going to the most local tracks (25 miles each way to Newport or 50 miles each way to Swindon) after watching the GP coverage on Sky at the end of the 1990s so without the GPs I may not have started attending tracks again. I know of a few others that were the same. I also regard the GP trips as my holiday time and have learned a lot more about European history and culture than I did when I was at school. There are some amazing places to visit than I would never have come across otherwise. I also feel lucky that I live in a time when it is very easy to travel throughout most of Europe unlike the previous generations who were commemorated in the VE celebrations last week and those in the cold war generation.
