Swc Event 1 King's Lynn 26/07/14

Great to see GB winning on home soil again, Aussie were lacklustre but still a great achievement to beat them when they were only missing Holder (a big loss granted but they have some decent riders to fill in). Nice also that Rosco's team selection paid off, really pleased to see Steady scoring above his weight and looks to have been an astute selection. Think it would be harsh to change the team for the final on that showing. I'm sure Middlo would be lobbying for Kennett to be put in there though! -

Swedish Elitserien 2014, Round 1

I'm sure they based the commentators in the film Dodgeball on Sam Ermolenko! Pretty sure I heard Buczkowski referred to by Sam as Kasprzak Buczkowski at one point, although that was probably one of his closer to the mark moments than some of the gems him and Jack gave us, at least he showed us he can pronounce Kasprzak correctly for when the time comes! Felt for Jack when the scores of the other meetings flashed up and he said something like "and I'll let our expert next to me talk us through these" only for Sam to fumble his way through, with the graphic disappearing before he could give us his insight on the last score - mutters something about racing hard! -
Fantastic GP, had money on KK to win (only wish I'd have put more on at 10/1!), it really felt right with his result in New Zealand and his Polish league scores so far, a rider at the very top of his game. Hard to like him after the attitude he displayed with the Bees last year but no doubting what a fantastic rider he is to watch when he's up for it, and hey, the money I've won tonight pays me back my entrance fee for some of those woeful displays I went to watch from him last year! Couldn't believe that move from Greg to re-take Ward in the semi, not bad for a rider who doesn't have a reputation for giving it the big one around the outside!

He's clearly lacking confidence for some reason, he's backed out of the first lap battle in both of his rides tonight, the real Tai Woffinden would never do that. Hope he can overcome it soon. Regarding Smolinski, did I hear Nige say that he had a button for his ignition in New Zealand? If so then surely he should be excluded from the result and his points deducted? If it's a clear technical regulation that is, which it must be if he's been told to take it off?

I can see where you're coming from on the corruption front, there can always be that seed of doubt planted. Having said that I actually think speedway is missing out on not opening itself up more as a betting sport. Despite its many rules and unique issues which make it different to more mainstream sports, it's got to be one of the very best for betting. On numerous occasions when mentioning my interest in speedway to people who know little about it, they have asked about whether it offers betting. Certain tracks could probably attract significantly more people along if they offered a full 'greyhound' type night out. I'm with the Eastbourne fans on their team's odds, I think they have as good a chance as anyone of being up there this season and 10/1 on the Eagles looks to be the most attractive odds in my opinion. Don't think they can beat Poole but wouldn't be surprised to see them make the play off final. A solid top 5 with a trump card in Michelsen and what should be a reliable, slightly more experienced reserve pair.
