And I applaud those fans, it isn't easy having watched your team collapse to then come on public form and praise the other team especially when there is the local rivalry associated. I have no doubts Newcastle will have a strong finish to the season, you have too good a line up not to. To go from winning first seven heats last night 22-20 to losing the next seven 29-13 was almost a freakish event. In my opinion your heat leaders were totally to blame, not winning a heat between them and Lindgren having scored 16+1, 12+1 & 14 on his visits to Redcar this season was not at the races, only Redcar rider he beat started off 15m! Rosen looks another gem, very quick, but not the same rider after his excursion towards pits fence in heat 8!

To To T In my opinion this is rule that needs to be applied to try and stop all unsatisfactory starts and "flyers" 15.3.1 Riders must not prepare their Starting area by turning the bike in a clock-wise direction. The Start Marshal will bring the Riders to the tapes in an orderly fashion. The front wheel must be within 75mm of the tapes and all parts of the motorcycle and Rider’s limbs must be within the marked Grid (nb. lines are neutral and do not form part of the Start Grid) and all ignition cut-out lanyards must be operative. If all riders are within 75mm then they can't move forward to gain advantage without real risk of touching tapes. sadly 75mm is never applied, watch next GP or Elite league match - riders starting positions are all over and most pull back after starting marshall moves away!! I think they were done under the refs interpretation of a, but I agree with you why couldn't he press button then give warning. I also feel Kus was very unlucky, as it appeared to me bike was pulling him to tapes straight away and he angled front wheel to avoid touching tapes, not trying to "cheat" or if you want politically correct - gain an advantage. Which I think Summers, Tully & Lindgren (plus Kerr and Wilkinson from early heats )had done

Here you go 15.3.4 The following are Starting Offences; (a) failing to proceed directly to the Starting Area or otherwise delaying the start of a Heat, b not being ready to race or deemed to be under the jurisdiction of the Start Marshal at the expiry of the 2-minute allowance, © taking up the wrong position, (d) not complying with the Start Marshal instructions, (e) by any means wrongly preventing the raising of the gate or (f) for a Rider or Rider’s machinery or any part of it to touch or break the tapes after the Green Starting Light has been displayed.

I agree Redcar's chances are about the same as Plymouth signing Darcy Ward for next season, but Leicester's chances are the same as Plymouth signing Darcey Bussell No way near the same, go ask a bookie for odds on Leicester !!

Well done to those three getting themselves organised and fixtures agreed, pity the other group is not up to speed, sadly I suspect I know where the inefficiency may lay

Announcement on BSPA website now - they don't mess about and wait 24 hours! But remember Leicester took part in PL Pairs and Redcar didn't and Leicester took part in PL fours and Redcar didn't and Redcar currently have more English riders in their 1-7 than Leicester Anyone needing clarification I refer you to #249

Being reported on Redcar forum that it's Somerset, Newcastle & Redcar and Ipswich, Edinburgh & Workington.
-
Good, don't do any more u turns and don't laugh too loudly when we get totally tanked by the other two teams in the play offs
-
You probably will be cynical and not believe me, but I would say the same thing if you reversed the teams and Leicester had qualified. As I said it's not ideal, but it is what it is - totally fair & square - Edinburgh had points taken off them and Rye House called fixtures off so get over it and move on. Nothing to defend, but those posters pointing this out aswell appear to include amongst others Newcastle and Edinburgh - or did you mean northern clubs not just Bears!!
-
There isn't a Leicester/Redcar problem - on the date set by BSPA to determine qualifiers for the play offs, Redcar are in 6th place, by virtue of the criteria set by BSPA to determine teams level on league points. Granted the outstanding fixture is not ideal, but it isn't a problem!

I'm told that Kus was unlucky in this instance, apparently his back wheel spoiler was loose and this was turning, but not his actual wheel, so he wasn't spinning - something I've not heard of him doing before. That said he could have done with having a flying start, preferably 15 m ahead - at least then he would have been competitive (for a few laps!!) -

I have no first hand knowledge of the incident, or directly of the riders involved so I don't feel able to pass any comments - however can I just say thanks to all the posters on here for providing such great entertainment . To those who gave considered thoughtful response It was good to read those views, to those who just decided to post the first comment they could think of to protect their team/rider or to strike back at some post they felt was unjustified - superb haven't had such a good read in months. I'll let you all decide which category you fall into !! And before anyone decides to respond please take a few minutes to consider reply, a concept which has obviously not taken place on numerous occasions on this thread already. Cheers -

I believe he is nephew of the mighty Mark Crang Superb win for the Bears - Bandits will be kicking themselves for losing a 7 point lead with two heats to go. Looks like Ashworth isn't up to speed, so we had a bit of luck on our side. -

Well said and totally agree - nothing wrong with poking a little fun at your "nearest & dearest" but should be given and taken in the right spirit. I've said it before it is to both clubs benefit for both to be successful, naturally I and other wearing red & white would like Redcar to be on top, those from Newcastle have a different view! BUT it's good for the other to do well. Imagine a Newcastle/Redcar playoff final or KO Cup final - Havvy would need to pay some more turnstile staff !!!!!! Lets have a good meeting tonight with fans respecting each other and the opposition riders -
I think that is a really valid point regarding Richie Worrall, I believe he has a similar mentality and as a consequence he is involved in first bend incidents and those like we saw tonight, other riders may have backed off when summers dived in front and crash could have been avoided, however would Nicki Pedersen - no, and neither does Richie Worrall, he sees the need to fight for position and not give them up. An attitude I applaud in a young British rider, however I also think that he does need to be aware of the times that the odds are not in his favour and he needs to give in and live to fight another race and be aware of other riders positions - all of this will come with experience (he is a young rider with limited racing years). He does get some bad press and there is a thin line between hard riding and unfair riding! Best wishes to him, didn't seem too bad and hopefully back soon and progressing in his career. On point of fans I apologise on behalf of all genuine Redcar fans, but has been said on numerous occasions, ALL tracks have their morons!!
-
It's one of the great rules that speedway has - rider can move and get a warning , if he moves and touches tapes excluded. So Dyer moves, makes Worrall go who touches tapes (well actually demolishes and takes them for a tour of track!) and Worrall excluded - is it fair?? Whoever said speedway rules/interpretations were fair?
