  1. Spot on Hagon, Rudy had barely ridden for two seasons after that real bad neck injury. In fact he never rode in England again. That '83 team was pure quality!! Other notables like Per Sorensen, Paul Bosley, Steve Bishop and Tim Hunt rode that year too. I remember we also tried to sign Berndt Odermatt that year, but a car crash put the scuppers on that, then we signed Mighty Milan Spinka instead...what a legend!!!
  2. 116 in Blue is Dave Morton i think
  3. Brilliant, Thanks very much. Must be a classic Speedway Star mis-print then!
  4. Can anyone help me please? I have hit another dead end in my aim to have a Website with all rider's in the British League Divs 1 and 2 since '65. There is a D.Walsh who rode for Glasgow at Oxford on 22nd July 1971, scoring 1 point. Can anyone shead any light on his full name and any gen about him??
  5. I'm with you Grachan! By all means cut the number of riders to 16, there are too many no hopers in the GP's at the moment. Sort out a decent qualification system and a fairer gate selection process and Bob's ya knob.
  6. Oh dear Speedway reverting back to the dark ages. There were far too many meaningless races in World Finals, also despite there being only 16 riders intended there will still only be 5 or 6 at most who are realistically in with a chance of winning the titile. The current format makes every race meaningful, although i do believe the starting position process needs looking at.
  7. John Ellis was an Exeter based junior who just rode the 1 match at the County Ground and scored 0. Kevin Russell (as described elsewhere) was an Aussie based in Scotland who rode in the match at Glasgow and scored 1.

  11. Ref hads a decent Meeting, Nicki deserves his title and Crumpy deserves great credit for being an absolute Gent in defeat despite the obvious hurt.
  12. Sex Kitten, your Tele obviously needs re-tuning Stop being silly
  13. But surely those traits you describe will attract more media attention than Hans ever could?

  18. I'll get some more gen for you when i get home. I know he rode for Ellesmere Port and Belle Vue for certain. Think he had a spell with Edinburgh in the early 80's, Long Eaton does ring a bell as well, 83/84 ish. I seem to remember he was about a 7 point man in the old NL and averaged about 5ish for BV in the British league.
