  1. Yes. These are Gaming International's leisure box-ticking proposals for the Abbey - alongside 130 houses (with 8 'affordable') proposed by L&G. The fantasy plans for the "new" facility are still in a "consultation" statua with Wilts Council with no date set for a decision yet.

  3. I think it will be easier for CO to claim that it's impossible for Speedway to survive in Swindon.
  4. This might get you started with post 1965 clubs. https://wwosbackup.proboards.com/board/71/teams
  5. No. Started in Division 2 (1968-1970)
  6. Wow! Speedway fans never fail to amaze me
  7. £30 message video from Cameo, using paper pulled from a leftover Xmas gift bag in Linda's bedroom. This is bad, even for speedway 😀
  8. Started listening but got bored pretty quickly - lots of words with little substance. Godfrey was far from convincing.
  9. Sad news coming through that former Sheffield number one Bob Valentine passed away this morning.
  10. What a silly comment. As a Swindon fan, I sincerely hope your team don't end up where Osborne has put ours (amongst others!)
  11. Osborne will be well advanced in his conversations with them.
  12. I see the names Osborne and Lewis and the talk of a new venue. It's Swindon playbook all over again. Osborne will have the Council covered, no doubt about that. As much of a loathsome man he may be, he is very good at covering the angles and playing the long game.
  13. https://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/25749989.matt-ford-sites-looked-at-poole-pirates/?ref=cprfa Game over guys!
  14. Me too. I have to say the service in Swindon has been brilliant. I've not had a late delivery for months.
  15. Abbey Stadium last day of operation confirmed as December 27th. The final greyhound meeting will take place on that day.
  16. Tried that approach at Swindon. Let's hope Rugby Council can create robust S106 conditions, unlike the ones Swindon Council must have asked a 5-year-old to draw up!
  17. Excellent letter from Brian Buck in the latest edition. It nicely encapsulates the disgraceful behaviour of Councils and Developers across the country - and not just with speedway stadia!
  18. It's also pretty much identical to the ruse they pulled-off with the Abbey.
  19. Absolute tosh! Do not be fooled. This is straight from the DPP Planning playbook
  20. Given his previous, I don't expect Mario Hausl or Antonio Lindback to be on his fave rider list.
  21. Sir Philip Davies is also Chair of Star Sports Group. They were (allegedly) one of the parties interested in buying the Abbey Stadium, but were put off by being given a valuation by the stadium owner, which was over double the actual value quoted in the planning docs which have been submitted.
