Not having a pop at you, just saying it's way wide of the mark. The planning app for Studley Grange is in the consultation phase until next Thursday. There are currently a LOT of objections.
-
That's nonsense.

Lots of deckchair shuffling on here. If the BSPL don't change the fundamental approach to where and how meetings are staged plenty more tracks will eventually fall victim to the land value, greedy developer disease.

Terry Russell stated NDL at the public planning consultation. The 500 quote is all about driving an agenda of the Abbey being 'surplus to requirements' to enable the planning there. We all know 500 is way off the mark for Swindon, but my efforts to find anyone with any hard data to support that has met with tumbleweed.

Bring Speedway back Bristol / Newport area

We have someone who wants to open the sport again in Swindon, but the Council are adamant they have no land available. Private land searches have also drawn a blank so far. Clarke Osborne continues to sit on what's left of the Abbey and let that deteriorate and not complete the new bits he threw up to enable houses in the car park. No doubt to eventually be allowed to demolish it for more houses. We are presenting our petition to Full Council on Thursday, but fully expect lots of lip-service and verbal support with no end product from the Council. -
Bumpity bump... Just gone past 2,000 today

Saw a note on Facebook earlier to say former Eastbourne, Poole and Oxford rider Malcolm Ballard passed away on Saturday.
-
I'm under no illusions of the likelihood of them being complicit in this end result. They needed Osborne onside to complete some recent work in the housing estate. Osborne purposely held back on that to use as a bargaining tool. Once that was done, the speedway planning statement was released and the Council backed off.
-
Absolutely zero consequence or jeopardy for GI now. This is the last element of the planning left, they've ticked all their housing boxes. Swindon Borough Council have been played like a fiddle from day one.
