  3. Swindon's floating too Hope Rosco can get a better Sky signal than i'm getting at home at the mo.
  4. Cheers Kev, Don't worry i'm still recording all those Canterbury wallopings
  5. Does anyone please have the complete list of scorers from the 1979 European Under 21 Final in Rovno USSR?? It was won by Ron Preston, but the Speedway Star of the time has no scores! Ta
  6. Oh no... here we go again. Havelock let his country down in the 2001 race-off, again in the 2002 race-off, then again in the 2003 final. For someone who is supposed to be proud to wear the racejacket, some of his performances have been woeful, especially from a former World Champion. In contrast, Screeny rode with a passion on Monday night. He should be in the team on Saturday, not Havelock. All the best Rob A World Cup is no place for sentiment. Screenie did well yesterday, but is pants at Poole. No decision to make, had to be Havvy.
  7. Think you're confusing negative with realistic. The current batch of u21 are the poorest we've had in a long long time. Long term, the likes of Daniel King and Eddy Kennett may well make it. However, there is a big age gap between Richardson and Nicholls - mid 20's - to these boys. Of the riders in between, only Simon Stead (imo) looks even remotely likely to be top notch. With all due respect to him, the fact Richie Hawkins is our u-21 champion but didn't make the World Final speaks volumes of the current crop from 18-21 years old. Historically most of the English riders who have been really world class have been instant heat leaders - Lee, Collins, Carter, Havelock instantly spring to mind, very few 'slow burners' make it anywhere near that far - possibly Lee Richardson excepted. Things look bleak for Team GB once the likes of Nicholls and Richardson move on.
  8. Embarrassing!!!!! Look forward to some titanic struggles with Latvia, Hungary and Italy in future Test Matches then!! British Speedway will drop off the radar in a few years time
  9. Mmmm...that is strange!! Maybe it's because he hasn't ridden a match yet???
  10. Think it was Bernie Lagrosse. Also Trevor Charley - Trevor Vincent
  11. Oh dear...I see it's spread to here now Adam?
  12. The only 2 heats that are remotely unimportant are Heats 9 and 10. Someone either puts themselves in jeopardy of elimination, or is on their way home in every other heat. Regressing back to a version of the old format will be a massive mistake IMO. In the new format someone could still conceivably win 5 qualifying heats plus a semi and not win the Meeting, so all the talk of it being fairer doesn't wash. All you'll end up with is the same sudden death finale in 3 heats (instead of 23) and 20 heats of going through the motions. Not to mention 2 less heats for your hard earned. Dreadful decision!!
  13. The current GP Format is one of the best things Speedway has ever done. It's simplicity and cut-throat nature make it ideal to sell to the neutral. There are no 'dead' heats in the current format, everything is on the line evry race....great for television and the non initiated. Having said all this, it's little wonder it's getting dropped. Doesn't fit with Speedways rag tag and bobtail image, Mickey Mouse image at all...!
  14. Think you'll find Brian Craven died some years ago.
  15. Gollob should be the last person in a position to criticise anyone elses riding, with his past record. This Pedersen thing is just ridiculous now, i can't see one thing he did wrong last night. It would appear most people want to turn Speedway into a Gentleman's Excuse Me!!
  16. Thanks Kev, i recognise the rider names now. What a quality report that was in the Speedway Star
  17. I have that already Grach. Thanks very much anyway.
  18. Does anyone have the complete list of scores from the 1978 European under 21 final won by Finn Jensen in Lonigo?? The Speedway Star is pretty vague, their list of scorers consists of some names i've never heard of (J.Juza, O.Keirjk, B.Rjszild, H.Mananiv, K.Nieuzjsliw, A.Gigoli and J.Romin!!) . I would be grateful if someone could post the individual scorechart for the meeting if poss. Cheers
  19. 230 is Troy Butler..you can even see the a*se end of a Kanga on his right shoulder.
  20. Crap choice. Do we really have to hear him wittering on about "chasing setups", "straightaways" and "Go Greg, USA!!!" live as well as on Tele?
  21. Applaud the World Champion for his achievement, and for the excellent entertainment he provides EVERY time he rides.
