Should be a great afternoon's racing at the most picturesque track in the country high up in the Derbyshire hills at Hi-Edge . Hopefully fans will make the effort to be there to support our emerging group of British youngsters. See you there!!
  2. Great to have had you 'back home' BFD --HOPE YOU HAVE A PLEASANT TRIP BACK TO DARWIN YOUR ADOPTED HOME. . A pleasure to meet you and the stubby gift was much appreciated mate. May see you down under soon!!
  3. Oh he will don't worry!! Larger than life and fun character is our BFD!! Make sure the bar is well stocked
  4. got it and replied .. see you in Cardiff ---then NEWPORT for the NL match Hornets v Saints at 7pm (Just to give it another plug!! )
  5. from BFD PS Just had a thought - Hornets Friday Night - now all I need is a lift. What time are you in Cardiff ? If it adds one more to our crowd I will be in Cardiff and heading for Newport --but early . Let me know BFD
  6. Looks like a morning start on Friday ---Cardiff first to pick up my key at my cousins (just round the corner from the Stadium!!) , change and head back to Newport for our National League encounter between the Hornets and Scunthorpe (7pm start). Back to Cardiff to meet up with friends over a glass of water or two. Saturday --lie in??? then brekkie and off for a walk round Cardiff and a few hostelries for a few more waters and in the stadium in time to watch the Under 15's and 250 lads (the main event!! ) , then the GP. I suppose a few more waters and a curry before retiring for the night. Up for brekkie --then off to Newport for the Welsh Open (1pm start). What a weekend!!
  7. Well done to one and all. Wish I could have been in two places at the same time but with the Wasps on a northern tour had to miss out on the 3rd round on Saturday. Congratulations to Ashley on his win in the 500's and Robert in the 250's ==== but well done to one and all who took part and it is a great pity not all the lads completed the meeting. I spoke to Daryl Ritchings dad tonight and he is battered and bruised but after a short rest will be back on his bike and giving it his all. I cannot believe someone has had a go at Adam Kirby's dad , Paul, for being proud and celebrating Adam's riding . I know them well and gave Adam his first rides at Mildenhall last year and he progressed so much in a short space of time ...well done Adam. I heard that they were all ready and waiting to get out on track for each race ---well trained these lads are already!! I have tried to run second halves at most Newport meetings this year and will continue to do so and the 250 lads and under 15's will always be welcome to take part ----they all need track time and as many laps as possible along with help, guidance and encouragement and like Malcolm says even if we are still there at midnight bringing on young British talent it is worth it. Roll on round 4 on July 25th at Buxton !!
  8. He broke his scaphoid at Newport a short while back. He is due to have the plaster off this Friday and will be back in action asap. He was not contesting the Under 15 championships this year and is looking forward to August when he reaches the grand old age of 15 and is eligible to ride in the National League. He has been riding Academy matches and in second halves at various tracks.
  9. Newport Mavericks are looking to run Academy matches as much as possible and will hopefully be sending a side to Mildenhall on June 21st.
  10. I will unfortunately miss round 3 at Weymouth on Saturday as I am away on the northern tour with Newport at Workington --I wish all the boys all the best and hope that the way we have run the first two rounds will continue for round 3 without me there to get you lined up one race before you are due out!! current standings : 250cc : Jt 1st : Brendan Freemantle & Robert Lambert 34 pts 3rd : Nathan Stoneman 26 pts 4th : Reece Downes 24 pts 5th : Jack Cornes & Adam Portwood 22pts 7th : Tyler Govier 16 pts 8th : Jack Jones 15 pts 9th : Steven Archer 14 pts 10th : Daniel Sibson 9 pts 500 cc : 1st : Josh Dingle 34 pts 2nd : Kyle Howarth 30 pts 3rd : Darryl Ritchings 27 pts 4th : Daniel I'Anson 24 pts 5th : Tom Stokes 23 pts 6th : Ashley Morris 21 pts 7th : Jack Butler & Adam Kirby & Cameron Hoskins 17 pts Line-up at Weymouth : 250's : 15 Reece DOWNES 9 Daniel SIBSON 13 Nathan STONEMAN 2 Jack CORNES 3 Brandon FREEMANTLE 5 Robert LAMBERT 1 Adam PORTWOOD 7 Steven ARCHER 11 Jack JONES 500's : 10 Daniel I'ANSON 14 Cameron HOSKINS 6 Darryl RITCHINGS 8 Ashley MORRIS 17 Kyle HOWARTH 20 Jack BUTLER 16 Adam KIRBY 4 Josh DINGLE 19 Tom STOKES Both sections have semi-finals and finals this time. GOOD LUCK LADS .....Laurence Rogers
  11. No not at all. I have been waiting --and still am --for Allen Trump to sort things out for publishing it . We do need to update a chapter or two but all is ready --and has been for well over 2 years!! The wait will be worth it!!
  12. what a great afternoon's racing . Congrats to all the lads riding today and fingers crossed that Ashley Morris leg, knee and ankle are ok after his heavy crash. Well done to Josh Dingle on his win in the 500cc section and to Robert Lambert in the 250's.
  13. With some of the lads on both the 250's and 500's having had 2nd halves recently and a few having been at the pre-season training schools, this should be a closely contested meeting and one I am really looking forward to.
  14. missed a comma out and should have added engine size (250 or 500)!!
  15. Just seen the programme proof for the meeting and it looks good.
  16. Riders are by entry. It is open to all those who qualify by the age, rulings, engine size (250 or 500) etc. E-mail me Lee and I will answer your questions that way. Were you considering entering Nick when you are here ? Laurence

Meeting awards and medals are backed by : Mallett Transport; The Metal Workshop ; and AAA Mortgage & Loans. Entry is £3 including a programme --with kids for a quid.
  18. A most enjoyable afternoon. My thanks to all the young lads for their help in getting the 22 heats through swiftly and without hold ups. Once they had got into the routine of lining up after the previous race my 'job' was made easier by this and we got things through in a good time. Congrats to each and every one of them today and I look forward to the enxt round at Newport on Saturday May 23rd --2.30 start.
  19. and still is going strong --had a 2nd half at Newport the other week but is out with a hand injury at the moment!!
  20. Superb session. The track rode really well , didn't cut up and looks brilliant --Roll on March 15th and the Prince of wales Trophy. No training school next Sunday .
