  1. ...and the Carmarthen track at the Showground is still there and used for tractor pullls several times a year ---and no sign of the hotel development that was given as an excuse for not allowing speedway to continue there. I know that Dean Felton went down there last year and drove his car around the track "for old times sake!!". What a waste!!
  2. The Surfaris (or something like that!!). I introduced this at Cradley for 5-1's and used it at other tracks. Nice to know it is still used . Also had "Oh No!! " for an away 5-1.
  3. Had text from NZ that Grant Tregoning has retained his NZ Under 21 title again ---congratulations to him and his back up team especially Ronder McKinlay.
  4. Chris Kerr's sister rides in the USA.
  5. She did . I also included her in some of the Carmarthen(Clwb Caerfyrddin) Dragons meetings we had on CL tracks the other year.
  6. Simon's wife is Andrea, Julie actually rode in the England team that day if I remember correctly at No. 4 and scored about 5 points.
  7. Steve Bastable's sister Pauline had some races against Peter Collins' sister, Anne, as well .
  8. Well done young Nick on his u-16 title --take it dad Lee had a few celebratory tinnies ??!!
  9. Yes all the best to Shane --deserves a break (but not the kind he's had the last 2 years!!) --look forward to seeing him back on a bike soon. Laurence
  10. Hans was known as the Main Dane. What do you want to know about Erik ? Having known him since he came to the Uk, acted as his manager and wrote his first book "Champ" , i might be able to help you with some background Jim --let me know . Laurence
  11. I've got Pete to register on BSF and he's been trying to log on tonight --unsuccessfully so far by the look of it. So watch out for 'Smurf' on here soon!!
  12. Sold the shop a few years ago . In fact I spoke to him only today!! Still follows speedway watching on Sky but rarely goes to a meeting nowadays .
  13. Andy also rode for Stoke /Chesterton.

  15. I certainly hope so Neil. We have some promising lads coming though and must encourage them as much as possible --with hopefully more tracks wanting to do these meetings next year and I would willingly offer my services to help with this. Jordan Tyrer was so disappointed at being pulled out of the meeting at the last moment and hopefully after talking to him and his dad Paul they will not be disillusioned and walk away. Amazingly he was able to take out a one day licence at Swindon last Sunday to ride for Bristol as it was at an EL track but couldn't do this today and even a phone call to Graham Reeve came back with a negative response which in my mind was absolutely ridiculous. We want to encourage not discourage these lads. Jordan is a competent motor-cyclists with several grass track titles to his name so he should have been allowed to ride --and Richard Moss as the Training Instructor offered to assess him to pass him as competent but this was not allowed. I'll get off my soapbox now but I was not pleased with this decision !! I have now re-looked at my programme and had not put the reserve swap in ht 12 with Lloyd Barrett in that one --so he had 7 rides 5+1 and Kyle Howarth 7 rides 17+1. Will amend my original posting with this!! Many thanks to you Neil and all at Renaissance Property Managment Ltd and to Barry Simpson at Simpson Racing UK for your kind sponsorship of this meeting.
  16. Tremendous show by two depleted sides ending with a last heat decider and a Carmarthen win 46-44. In the 250's Reece Downes took the honours on 13 with Jack Cornes 2nd on 12 and Conner Dwyer third with 10. 21 races in an hour and a half as well!! With so many changes and double Rider-Replacement used by both sides I hope my scores are correct!! Checking through I had Kyle Howarth down for 8 rides!! However I missed the change of Lloyd Barrett for him in Ht 12 so all now sorted!! Carmarthen were without Brendan Johnson ( withdrew) , Joe Jacobs (injured) and were stopped at the last moment from using Jordan Tyrer as he had no licence!! Jack Butler swapped sides to the Dragons who were without Jake Knight (ill) and then lost Ashley Morris with a wrist injury in Ht 1!! Even so the 4 v 5 'men' sides produced some entertaining action. Newly crowned U-15 champ Jason Garrity had a seven ride 21 point max. Buxton 44 ( Jason Garrity 7r 21, Cameron Hoskins 7r 1, Ashley Morris (withdrawn injured), Lloyd Barrett 7r 5+1, Kyle Howarth 7r 17+1) Carmarthen 46 ( Scott Meakins 10+1, James Sergeant 7r 17, Jack Hirst 6r 8+3, Richard Andrews 7r 10+5, Jack Butler 4r 1) Just a great pity more fans did not come along to watch !!!
  17. Unfortuntely no Joe Jacobs after his crash in the U-15 round at Buxton last week. He tried his hand out at Ipswich on Thursday but had to admit defeat in his hopes of lining up for the Dragons on Sunday. Still two good sides out on track --let the battle commence!!
  18. Only a few days now till the lads take to the track for the clash --Hitmen v Dragons + the 250cc Individual event. Should be a great afternoon at Hi Edge --hopefully lots of fans will come along to support the up and coming British riders -see you there!!
  19. Really looking forward to it!! When are you announcing the teams then Mrs Moss ??
  20. As discussed with Graham Reeve + Jonah saturday the formula is being looked at . It is very disjointed.
  21. Jack Lee was there --and a currently trackless tm who was a bit busy helping to organise the riders!!
  22. Didn't see anyone filming it --and with the mist dropping at times it was getting hard to see the top bend anyway!!
  23. Now that sounds like a plan!! With Brendan riding Sunday you know it makes sense!!
