  1. Joined broadcast from Wroclaw & Tarnow so they'll be switching between the races. But I'm very disappointed they are not showing ZG v Gorzow - definitely the most interesting pair out of these three.
  2. It was a league match that had already been lost. British Final sounds a bit more important in this case. Exactly.
  3. Gorzow manager: "Tomek Gollob has tonsillitis and was riding with a fever today, that's why we didn't use his as TR and he didn't ride in heat 15" Maybe next time try to find the real reason/answer on the internet before you write something silly? PS. Knowing Gorzow would be missing Pedersen and Pawlicki, TVP should have shown Wroclaw v Torun - sounded like a pretty good meeting on the radio. PPS. Hoping to see Z.Gora v Gorzow and Wroclaw v Torun next Sunday.
  4. zm like zmiana = change (replacement) ( zm like zmarły = dead )
  5. Yes indeed - Polonia Bydgoszcz stadium is a speedway track + football pitch so it's shared by both sections of the same sports club. However, the football team plays in some low division (4th I think) so there's no serious clash with practice/matches times - it's not used 24/7, needless to say.
  6. He was brilliant today! Maybe Czestochowa riders are not the toughest rivals but Emil's actions were fabulous - the track was rubbish, really not much passing and Emil was actually the only guy who was passing today - doing it in a great style. The only rider it was worth visiting the stadium for today. You would never guess he's just come back after a 10 week long break injury if you didn't know!
  7. NO ONE cares here in Poland about the fact that Holta was not born in Poland, nobody seems to have a problem with this either. The whole Holta story was maybe a bit hard to accept at the very beginning, years ago (as it was something totally new) but now we've got so used to the fact he represents Poland at the international stage that we simply don't mind and treat him like other sportsmen representing our country in international games. Our World Cup wins may forever be tarnished for some jealous guys like you, but not for us. We are happy and we are proud Until the end of the 80s most speedway riders in Poland had been riding in their hometown clubs. Any transfer like Plech's move from Gorzow to Gdansk was something UNUSUAL and huge WOW. But since the communism ended here and everything became much easier (mostly in terms of communication and transport) transfers between the clubs slowly became something normal. Currently, many riders (about 2/3 out of the Polish riders? - I reckon) ride in teams which are not their local ones. Most of them have to drive each weekend to take part in practices and matches. The main difference between UK and Poland as for practising is that it's rather obligatory here - usually it's Friday before another league match. Of course, if someone's got a meeting abroad (or a GP practice that day) he doesn't have to show up at their team's practice (Pawlicki's case was an exception - Gorzow manager is just stupid) but all the riders who are free that day are supposed to take part in the practice - absence is perceived as "I don't care" attitude or laziness (of course unless you are sick or have any other serious reason - same as in any other job). Usually it's not a problem for anyone, though - riders want to practice and get ready for their Sunday's matches cause it's a part of their work - the more they practice and work on their bikes the better they're prepared and the more money they may earn on Sunday, simple as.
  8. Wasn't hard to predict the final, the Kings Lynn event was the biggest unknown.
  9. But... each rider riding in a Polish club is allowed to practice at the track of his club if he wants to and asks for such opportunity. It's not opened for the Poles only. Usually club authorities are more than happy if their foreign riders come over one or two days before another league match and practise. For example, last Friday a few Torun riders (including Sullivan who's obviously not Polish) were practicing along with the Bydgoszcz boys at the Bydgoszcz track (there was some concert the day after in Torun so they couldn't use their track). Generally speaking, Polish tracks are open for riders who ride in Polish leagues, sometimes it doesn't even have to mean their home tracks. It's just a matter of good will and some effort from the riders ... However, if young riders like Woffinden or Ward seem to prefer hanging around night clubs in Poland and doing silly things in the pits instead of concentrating on their job / practising then what you expect? Maybe that's just my opinion but most British riders have never seemed to be taking speedway as serious as most riders from other nations. Who (out of the riders) usually leads in drinking at SWC/SGP weekends? - the Brits, some Aussies etc. While Gollob hasn't drunk at all since he became a professional speedway rider ... Being professional means dedication, such as pumping LOTS of money into your equipment (engines, tuners etc.), giving up partying hard, practising a lot etc. So, some of you can think up 600 cc engine theories here (as I have read such) but I think that the Polish riders are simply the most professional ones at the moment, I mean this season, especially Gollob and Hampel. Rickardsson has always been the example, but I think this season both Poles are not (much) below his level. Time to accept some order in the speedway world has changed a bit. And I think that after yesterday's win I can say that.
  10. ZG has got the best and the most devoted fans in Poland. Speedway is a religion there.
  11. Alright - they didn't show it on Polish telly. Anyway, not throwing anything doesn't make Harris a better rider than Gollob, I'm afraid
  12. U got anything more to say about the ref, now? Ha ha ha !
  13. Well, they can ALWAYS ask the ref to examine the Polish engines. I'm sure we have NOTHING to hide.
  14. GB, a multicultural country with millions of emigrants from the whole world - who later represent GB in many kinds of sports ... and you are moaning about Holta like it was something new. He's been living in Poland for ages, paxing taxes here, his gf is Polish, he owns land here and he's got a house here, finally - HE chose to ride for Poland, we didn't ask him. You must be a chauvinist member of some national party having a problem with this. Anyway, EOT, not gonna waste my time anymore replying to such stupid posts like yours.
  15. Polish manager ain't much better - we could use the joker a couple of races back but we didn't. And probably won't get to until the end of the meeting.
  16. You are boring man ... and you better mind your team who are LOSING.
  17. Z.Gora v Tarnow will probably take place tomorrow, after all. As both teams agreed they can ride w/o Lindgren and B.Pedersen.
