  1. Not watching most matches this year must have saved you lots of nerves. ??? Not expecting any crowds at this match, around 4 thousands maybe.
  2. According to this: http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2010/07/14/pedersen-raczej-nie-wystartuje-w-druzynowym-pucharze-swiata/, Pedersen is unlikely to ride in the SWC semi at Gorzow due to his injury (he had a nasty crash at Bydgoszcz last Sunday). //Posted at the same time Davi
  3. With Crump & Adams giving it up this year, Swedes not in the their best form, Russians missing Emil and Team GB as usual, it's all gonna be about Poland v Denmark - at Gorzow and at Vojens, I think ... I hope that having such riders like Gollob, Hampel and Kolodziej in the form of their lives we will win it this time, in the auld enemy's territory
  4. No. We, the Bydgoszcz fans, are not worried (not much, at least ) First of all, those two teams that end the main part of the season on the positions 7th and 8th ride against each other (home & away) for staying up in Ekstraliga (99% it will be Bydgoszcz and Czestochowa). Doesn't matter that much if you finish 7th or 8th, actually - the advantage of finishing 7th is that you host the second match and if it's a draw on aggregate (for example 50-40 in the first meeting and then 50-40 in the second meeting), the team which was 7th will stay up. Then, once this 7th v 8th race-off is decided, the loser falls down straight to Divsion 1 and the winner races against the runner up of Division 1 (same type of a race-off - home & away), as you wrote above. If Daugavpils are the runner up of Division 1 then we may have no race-off as I don't think they'll ever allow them to ride in Ekstraliga (on the other side - don't think Daugavpils would ever want it due to financial reasons). Back to the question - we are not much afraid of racing against Czestochowa in the race-off for staying up. Emil will be back by then and it shouldn't be too hard to beat them with him. But obviously you can never be sure if someone else doesn't get injured etc... so of course there will be some stress over these two matches. We are not that rubbish. Alright, we are nothing special either (having such aces like Lindback or Kosciecha ) but it's Emil's injury that has ruined the whole season for us. Ride 11 out of 14 matches without your leader and try to qualify for the play-off - definitely not an easy task, especially that we even cannot do any RR on Emil due to some league regulations regarding averages etc. Actually then, Friday's match against ZG may not matter at all. Personally, I'm not even really excited about this meeting. The team will be trying to win it but to qualify for the play-off (top 6) we have to win at Tarnow (or at least score there a bonus point if we beat ZG) which in my opinion is impossible without Emil - we'll probably lose it 55:35 or something about. So, the team will be fighting till the end, as they sing, but having watched their efforts and tries this year, most Bydgoszcz fans have already mentally prepared themselves for a 'to be or not to be' battle for staying up against Czestochowa (+ maybe Division 1's runner up after it).
  5. Usually the same story every year at Bydgoszcz ... Much smaller stadium, nothing to compare to Cardiff but certain proportions are pretty similar - the majority of the crowd are normal guys, after a few beers but doing no harm. However, there almost must be a few complete idiots or completely drunken morons who are only interested in starting a fight for any reasons. They are always pain in the @ss and annoy me a lot before the meeting starts while I sit at the stadium long hours keeping seats for my mates ... However, speedway usually wins in the end, even despite such inconveniences.
  6. Not 100% sure but almost sure that Leszno/Torun logos have been on race jackets in ALL of the GP's this year so far. It's an ad like any other, could be Royal Navy or Fiat vans or whatever. But yes, it hurts me too that the son of BYDGOSZCZ, Mr Gollob, has to ride with TORUN on his chest
  7. 27* C in Gniezno this Sunday according to the forecasts (http://www.pogodynka.pl/miasto.php?miasto=gniezno) so a bit more humane than 35* C (and much better than 39* expected in Poznan this Thursday) It was boiling hot in Bydgoszcz as well but the beer had never tasted any better WTK is a Poznan tv channel, it's mostly local news, stories and sport. They show Poznan matches a few days after, normally all races - might have been a break for the news or something, I guess.
  8. So far this season it's been Poland easily kicking everyones' asses
  9. Poland's line-up: 1. Gollob 2. Hampel 3. Kolodziej 4. Holta 5. Miedzinski Silly cheap tickets for the Gorzow event - 25 zl adults, 15 zl students & kids which is, respectively, 5 and 3 GBP. Gonna be full house
  10. That's what they invented sun glasses for
  11. Practice your Polish - the grid girls at Cardiff will be taken from Leszno this yr
  12. Been at this track a couple of times. Not the best track on Earth but it's not tragic either. It's very very long - after 3 laps you feel like the race should be finished but they are still racing (especially if you are used to short British tracks) The stadium is nicely located in a big park/forest (not far from the city centre though) but it's neglected too - they re-started speedway in Poznan a few years ago and haven't got enough money yet to refurbish it. Over 35 degrees in the shade in Poland this weekend ... Hot as hell but at least the girls won't be wearing too much
  13. http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2010/07/08/podprowadzajace-z-leszna-na-grand-prix-wielkiej-brytanii/ The start girls at Cardiff will be taken from Leszno I preferred the Torun ones more, though - the blue one was mindblowing, IMHO
  14. According to today's issue of one of Bydgoszcz newspapers, Emil won't come back sooner than in August No chance he'll race at Cardiff, anyway.
  15. Ekstraliga stats: http://www.sportowefakty.pl/img/tmp/stat/stateliga2010.htm Lingren #28. Woffinden... #40.
  16. They didn't show it but the commentator got excited saying that Sullivan and AJ started pushing each other at the pits gate, a bit like Emil and Nicholls last yr at Cardiff Will find out what was going on later, in the post match comments.
  17. The earliest Emil may come back is next Sunday but I doubt it. Bydgoszcz will be struggling at Torun today without the Russian torpedo but I hope we can fight over there and score 33 points to win a bonus point (it was 58-32 in Bydgoszcz v Torun). That's the plan for today.
  18. Gizatullin was riding on Sayfutdinov's engines today. U could see the difference, couldn't you?
  19. 27 degrees in the shade in Bydgoszcz at the moment, a proper hot summer weather It's a meeting of the 2nd round, postponed from April (Polish AirForceOne crashed the day before and they cancelled all matches then).
  20. Jarek Hampel as my captain for Cardiff, please. Thanks
  21. After a dismal performance against Wroclaw at home, it's a 'to be or not to be' match for Bydgoszcz. If we want to qualify for the play-off's (top 6) we can't lose this one. But we'll be still racing without Emil and after the latest update of averages we can't do RR for him.
