  1. Good views from upstairs bar seating. But steep steps to get to bar area.
  2. No, I would never upset a lady (even one from Berwick upon Tweed)
  3. I was thinking of changing my viewing position this year. Maybe I will stand with 2 or 3 of my tallest mates about a third of the way along the tempstand, One step down from the back I'm always up for a bit of banter with the local postie
  4. When I got to the stadium, I saw Shadders and a couple of other Rye House fans standing at the bottom of the terracing and there was nobody in chairs for at least 5 or 6 steps behind them.
  5. Shadders, Are you going to make it in time for tomorrows meeting ? Or are you still waiting for tube at Down St station
  6. Thanks Dave ))) Hope to see you Friday.
  7. I can hear the bikes, but its too cold and as I haven't got a car today. I will wait to hear from any nutters that are brave enough to visit and see how the boys are looking this season. Cant decide if I will go to Ipswich on Friday yet, don't suppose it will be any warmer by then ??
  8. Lets have some more details then !!! Who's there, what do they look like ?? Times etc... Get on top of the multi-storey car park and post some updates. We know you do naff all else when your meant to be at work
  9. The season starts next week, and we still have a month before our first meeting at Rye House ((( Bored bored bored
  10. So, Lens bringing back Stevie B into team ? Maybe he's boxing clever ? Or it could just be a stab in the dark ?? Hmmmmmmmmm.
  11. At least Jason is a decent advert for Speedway and as close as the Kiwis have to a local champion to cheer on, 7 or 8 times NZ champion and was not totally embarrassed in such company last year. Maybe Batch can have Wards place in the GP ?? Dependant on any future fall out from his latest antics. I for one will be following Jasons progress with interest and pride that he represents NZ and the ROCKETS at this meeting. Good Luck 'Bunny' for the GP and the season ahead.
  12. Just cancelled my Sky Sports subscription and stated lack of Live Speedway GP's as my reason for cancelling. Offered me all the discount packages and said that I must phone to complete the deal !!! I stated I was out of the country and could only communicate via e-mail so they gave up and it took about 30 seconds online to complete necessary information. Thats a few less £££ from me they will get.
  13. Locally is the Hatfield Mountain Bike Ride, which I think will be going down the Lea towpath at Rye House during the late morning and early afternoon ?? And after the millions of competitors and spectators have vacated the area, the late start maybe because of the 5.30pm Kick off for the F A Cup Final, which will most probably involve Spurs Therefore only Shadders will be available to watch the Rockets at 7.00pm as that other North London team will have lost interest in any cup or league competition by this date
  14. New Rockets website went live this morning http://www.ryehouserockets.co/ Looks ok, finally someone has dragged Len into the new millenium ))) Still headed as Live Speedway every Saturday Night at 7pm ??? With no National League team, it looks like were going to get a lot of friendlies and time fillers Late start to the Rockets fixtures this year as first home match is on April 1st, and shock horror its against the Witches, most probably first of about a dozen fixtures with them during the season ))) I suppose it doesn't really matter who it is, I am just waiting for the season to start )))
  15. I say's in the press release that they have signed Dak North as they don't want the hassle and unavailibility of D/U riders, so presumably he will be riding solely for Peterborough in the UK.
  16. Cheekee Raylee Monkee, I was just joking ))) I watched everyone of his home performances plus a few away ones and saw his improvement from a fast unguided missile to a decent 3rd heat leader. I hope that he can come back and continue where he left off and that last years lay off has not left him too race rusty. I think that him, Anders, Kasper and Jason G are all capable of increasing there averages and as long as Ollie and Simon can maintain their's, Rye House will not be as low in league as some others are appearing to think. At very least racing will be exciting. If its young exciting racers you want to watch, come to Rye on a Saturday night )))
  17. If its anything like last time he stayed at the stadium it might be best to use the dogs to keep Nelson in the stadium grounds, not keep others out )))
  18. I think the Taylor Poole and Cory Gathercole results are more of a shock than the Nelson result !!
  19. Come back and join us. It was so bad at times last year I think that Startline Sid and myself were the only two in the stand at a couple of Raiders meetings. This year even if we are not at the very top of the league table we certainly have some exciting young riders in Anders, Tyson, Jason G and Kasper )))
  20. Try this ? http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.18812
  21. 3 wins. Second and a third the other day in a field with some decent PL riders in it. According to BSPA site.
  22. Only about a 100 days till we can open our eyes
  23. I think we have 3 Aces in Mellgren, Garrity and Lykke. One Joker in Nelson, if he turns up ? If he rides like he finished the 2011 season ? And 3 that we could shuffle back into the pack ?? Allen looks a bit expensive average wise. Bunyan needs to start the season on top form and stay there. Lambert needs to improve fast, whether he can or not I do not know ? I was fairly happy with team when I first saw it, but now some of the others have declared their teams I am starting to worry about the middle of the team. 3rd heat leader. 2nd strings and one reserve. Somerset Edinburgh (if Cooke signs) Berwick Leicester Scunthorpe and Newcastle all looking fairly strong.
  24. Raiders are going to ride out of Sittingbourne this year !!! Implications are presumably; Meetings every other Saturday at Rye House for Rockets. A drive of approx 60 miles each way for Hoddesdon area supporters of Raiders. (Both of us ) At present Saturday night is reserved for speedway, if it becomes every other week, wifey will expect me to take her out ??? Not particularly happy about it.
