Maybe I should have said in no particular order and I cannot be bothered to work out all aves, but pretty sure it will be well inside limit ))) Got no idea about R/R but I am sure Len will keep a place open for Luke. Even if it is a temp signing like 'little Ben' or James Sargeant to cover until he is declared fit. Lambo to Sheffield is popular thinking and its 50/50 in the startline stand as to whether Bunyan will get another year. Whats the thoughts from the posh seats where you sit then ? ))

Ok, heres my latest guess at next years line up 1.Ricky Kling 2.Anders Mellgren 3.Tyson Nelson 4.R/R Luke Bowen 5.Jason Garritty 6.Kasper Lykke 7. ???

Yes, but with an EL ave of 3.97, he would come in on a reasonable ave I think. 3.97 x 1.6 = ???, Less than 8 anyway Maybe not a big No. 1 but I think with the way the team looks to be shaping, he would fit in. Talking to him last night he seems like a good lad too )) -

Yes I did and he said that if at all possible he will be back with Rye. Lens got to agree to get his registration from BSPA but he likes it at Rye. Ricky and Ludwig dont know their plans for next year yet ( or are not saying). They all say that riding for Rye House is a pleasure and gets a big reccomendation from ex-rye riders like Linus and Stefan, on the continent. Shads Just seen tweet, put 2 and 2 together and most probably wrong but looks like next year could be interesting )) -

Rye House V Ipswich 6th October
bolly replied to crazysue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Hi Shads Crowd ok as far as I could see, about normal for for meetings over the last few weeks. Some good performances from all the Rockets, as someone said to me, a couple looked like they were racing for a team place next year )) Doyle- Normal classy self, sitting behind and protecting Rye riders in first couple of outings. Mellgren- Bike problems in first 2 outings while in the mix or leading. Jason G- Character and class, nailed on for next year. Jason B- Looking good when he gates, but still goes missing at points during the meeting. Kasper- Please please learn to gate and we will have a cracking rider here. Simon- Couple of wins early on then faded, looks uncomfortable on Rye Track, Had a few words with Len before the meeting and he said that he has 4 names pencilled in already for next year. As he put it 'four of the best young riders in the league'. I hope it is Garrity, Mellgren and Jasper. Then I think he means Nelson who he promises will be back next season. I don't think Doyles in the frame (( and I gather he has one hand on Mellgrens registration. So next year we are looking like; 1. ??? (Doolan/Masters) 2. Garrity 3. Mellgren 4. Nelson 5. ?? (Lanham/Luke Bowen when fit) 6. Jasper 7. Bunyan/Lambert -

Taken from Press Releases on BSPA Following one of the most traumatic seasons in the club's history, the Silver Ski Rockets aim to finish on a high note in the end of season Premier Challenge Trophy competition. The official October averages now change the Rockets’ reserve positions, with Kasper Lykke and Simon Lambert filling those berths and Jason Garrity moving up into the main body of the team for the first time. Len Silver is calling upon the fans of Hertfordshire and Essex to rally round the team and show their support in big numbers for the fixtures against Ipswich and Sheffield,. "We need to end the year on a high note" he said. "After such a disastrous season our riders are rallying to bring some late success and there is no doubt that the quantity of support will help that cause. Our result against Edinburgh was a clear demonstration that the Rockets can beat the best and I am very confident that the team will succeed." Charlie Gjedde remains sidelined and John Sampford, team manager, is scouring the country for able guests to cover his absence. Workington's number one, who loves the Owlerton track, Richard Lawson, is drafted in for the match at Sheffield this Thursday, while regular "honourary Rocket" Jason Doyle is on standby to step in for Gjedde against Sheffield on Saturday. -

Its the hot dog from the burger van next to the refs box a few onions and the extra hot chilli relish, mmmmmmmmmm thats damn tasty. I think I am the only one to have the chilli relish as it has gone down very slowly, but there was not much left in the bottle now, so don't go nicking it all And bothered or not I will be in my normal place on the startline stand as I have been for every home meeting rockets and raiders this year. Rye House announce that Gjedde will guest for our absent No. 1 Doyle Ok, ok, but it seems that Jason has ridden more for us than Charlie has. Remember everybody that if we don't win this one we won't make into the very prestigious 'Premier Challenge' competition, so everybody turn up and give a big hurrah to our boys (by the way if you cant remember who our boys are they will be wearing Red and Blue helmets) Edinburgh have Doolan and Dilger replacing injured riders. But maybe if we lose we will at least have a big wooden thing to hit Frampton, Hawkins and Gjedde with -

Dont cry Shads, I hear Ricky Wells has offered to stand in for Charlie -
Money Saving Ideas for Len. 1. Instead of having all those noisey Motorbikes and expensive riders - Continue with having the track staff and marshalls paraded around the track to the strains of 'Those Magnificent men in their flying machines' then two hours of of us all gripped with excitement watching Terry the start marshall check the starting gate and tapes, maybe a little practice of red flag waving, formation shale spreading from the buildup near the kick boards and finish off with a cescendo of Len driving round grading the track. 2. Saturday morning fishing contest in the river 'Lea' as most of the minnows caught will be just about the right size to be battered and sold as fish and chips in the Chippie. 3. Maybe some static exhibits of things like 'Bike Maintenace' from Steve Boxall, or tours of track from Tommy Allen showing all the spots where he fell off (if time is available), maybe Charlie G could give us a slide show of what I did during the summer (because he hasn't been at Rye House much.) The kids could have fun with a metal detector trying to find the non-metallic parts of Lukes legs (I am sure that he doesn't go to hospital anymore but Kev has got a big Meccano set at home ))). Its been a bad season in most respects, injuries, weather and results. But it can only get better next year.

I believe that dependent on the average that Kasper Lykke finishes the season on, that he will increase his average next year. He normally stays with whoever he is riding against and is pretty fearless at overtaking in places where it is often considered impossible. The problem is that he normally gives the opposition a 10m head start as his gating is so poor. I have seen Neathy giving him tips at the start gates after meetings, but as I am not a rider myself I do not know if gating can be learnt or if it is just speed of reaction to an outside trigger which is genetic ?? I think he will improve next year and will improve a lot more if he can get his gating sorted. If averages dictate that he can start at reserve next year then I think he is a 'no brainer' to be included in the line up.

Posted Today, 04:12 PM hooversquash, on 03 September 2012 - 05:01 AM, said: How about introducing a Polish rider somewhere in the team. Would certainly help the crowd numbers! How about intoduce a travelling circus Pikey!! Certainly help pullin more punters from the immediate catchment area.. Or has that already been done! Excuse Me, that will be Mr Pikey to you. For your knowledge we had at least a dozen Polish spectators that I saw and spoke to at last weeks meeting. With at least 20 'Polska Skleps' in the local area there has to be a largish local Polish community and speedway being a major sport in Poland it may not be a silly idea to try and encourage a few more through the gates. Somebody like Kosciuch or Buczkowski may even be good enough to get a reserve berth in the team

Westham, My punctuation maybe ? John said 'very difficult to get riders', I added the £30 a point after a jokey remark remarks about how much is paid to PL riders. Shads, yea a relook at his last efforts mean he could be better than I thought and a lot etter than Ricky Wells )) -

Josh Grajconek is guesting for Charlie on Monday (gawd elp us) But John Sampford says its very difficult to get decent riders if your only paying £30.00 a point -
As I said earlier, Masters latest average on greensheets is 7.55. Rye had 10.57 to play with prior to Simon Lambert joining. If Lambert stays, then Charlie, Anders or Kasper will have to make way for him. ( I hope not ) Even if they rest Garrity whilst injured and bing in a 3.00 rider I can't see how it can be done ???

I tend to agree with you Westham and Shadders. It was just food for thought )) But as you say Westham Len is very loyal and I think that you will find that Ben will be back next year ???
