Park like Osborne is only in it for the cash, neither have any interest in speedway.

Money money money no interest in anything else just to line their pockets. F**cking sharks

Urban Explorers have gained access to site.

More footage to follow, apparently.

Just watched the footage and seen the photos. While I’ve seen the plans several times, that acoustic barrier is really noticeable and has taken away some of the best viewing spots. However, the old girl still looks great and the remodelled track amazing. It’s a shame we only saw one season on it and I’d say it was the best. I wish everyone involved the best of luck in getting speedway back to that iconic stadium sometime soon.

It will just be the latest move by the slimy slippery Osborne operation to point to  Speedway being not supported in the Swindon area, there should be a caveat from the council that the  Studley Grange site should be up and running for 2  years before any talks can be held with regard to any further development of the Abbey Stadium

Dead and Buried.😭

How do you reach that conclusion from this?

Horrible situation for Swindon.

A new company can be created on Companies House for around £20, but the fact the last entity to run speedway in Swindon has collapsed doesn’t exactly scream positivity.

Do we have any Swindon fans on here? If so, do you still attend the likes of Oxford, or are you lost to the sport?

Many years ago, I enjoyed visiting Reading, Oxford and Swindon. Cornerstone clubs of British speedway.

It’s a travesty, what’s happening to UK speedway. I’m an optimist, but also a realist and without significant intervention, we’ll lose this fine sport one day in this country.

Is this Steve Park guy Clark Osborne in disguise ?, I had never heard of him until recently, probably doesn't know one end of a speedway bike from another, not to mention which way riders go around a track.

No, definitely two different people, but both with the same weakness: ££££. Neither is remotely interested in speedway; hence Park speaking for the demolition of the Abbey Stadium recently and now dissolving the company that he had been left with after the death of Terry Russell.

Swindon fans (in the main) don't see this as a material change. Swindon Speedway 2013 LTD wasn't operating and no longer had any association with running speedway in Swindon (BSPL have the licence). This move was entirely predictable with Terry passing away and Park now being Osborne's puppet in Swindon Motorsports and their pretend new track.

Not sticking up for Osbourne but he has already has a long history in speedway and stock cars but he is a business man and is in business to make money and if speedway was in a better financial position then I’m sure he would be on speedways side
