I don’t think a period of rest, like Borke at Berwick, would be a bad thing for Boughen.

I think it’s fairly obvious he’s struggling. Other than heat one at Armadale and heat eight at home to Edinburgh, he’s looked uncomfortable on the bike. Engine issues can be fixed, but you can’t ride through a hip injury.

I think its more a confidence think at the moment. If he makes the start and gets out front he looks unstoppable, if he doesn't he'll shut off or over ride causing him to fall. Having a good meeting or two should hopefully help him but unlike Borke I think Boughen needs race time to solve his issues.

Possibly, but I think it’s more likely a combination of both.

Pre-crash which resulted in the hip injury, he had scored 5 and 4+1, including two race wins, across two Premiership meetings. For a top flight number seven, you can’t possibly ask for anything more, so the fact that struggles have been post-crash implies it’s the root of the issue.

From when I’ve seen Boughen ride live and on tv he’s never wanted to ‘mix it’ in the first bend rolling off seems the be the common thought process for him If he hasn’t gated, being fast tracked after his moto-x and not having much opportunity to go through likes of NDL and get used to the hurly burly first bends it’s sort of biting him in the arse now with riding with better riders generally it’s 3 or 4 riders all there wanting similar space at same time.  Think it’s going to have to be a patience thing with him and just know he could be a 0,3,0 type of rider until something clicks with him with the tough first bends.   If he gates as people have said he looks fast as, so there’s definitely something there to work with

What is it with Kings Lynn Glasgow riders getting hip injuries, is Bomber next

Bomber's getting on for right age for a hip replacement

Boughen is a worry though.

He shut off so much and so quickly going into the first turn at Leicester last night that he almost fell off with the way the bike reacted!

Read on the Glasgow Tigers Facebook earlier that there is currently a closed practice session taking place on track between 11am and 3pm, with no public access.  Cracking day for it up here!!

Scared of another home defeat to us in a matter of weeks so they’ve got them all up for a 4 hour session. 😂

Sadly we are using no guests against Glasgow tonight for Paco so unless he surprises everyone and all other 6 click at once we will get hammered.

Yes, Drew Kemp certainly helped last time and there's no chance of the other six all clicking as Matt Marson is riding.

With Paco second in the averages that's a good r/r option imo.

Monarchs have won once already, no reason not to aim for the same again. But Glasgow should be good enough to win.

Edinburgh website indicates Paco is riding !!

Think they mean more that Paco is riding instead of a guest tonight so the other 6 riders need to click together as Paco isn't the strongest round Ashfield (or at best not consistent)
