I must say the parking "issue" really does make me think twice about going to Birmingham, I only went the once last year and had to pay £3 for the privilege of parking on the gypo car park. The One Stop was a perfect solution for me and most others in previous years, so it's a shame that the promotion couldn't come to some arrangement with them as it seems that some say that this is possibly still usable. Like I said in an earlier post I nearly parked on-street last time I went but saw a load of signs on lamp posts that I didn't recognise that looked like they could be parking restrictions so didn't chance it.

PS.

Incidentally I'm going to Villa Park in June to see GnR, I've never been before so any advice on parking for that would be greatly appreciated, I would call Axl but he may put the phone down laughing 😉😂

Axl will struggle to park himself, he usually rocks up about an hour late!

I'm a big boy... I own a car 🚗

I think Pete's suggestion of the train might be wise?

Basically, you could park a little further away from VP and get the train in....the traffic around the stadium can be slow, even when a match isnt on?

The Cross City line is cheap and frequent and your car might be safer parked further away...

okay, thanks, that's good to know, that's generally what I do when going to concerts in London, but there I can be sure that the underground will be running 24/7. I'll look into that, thanks 👍

I will continue to use the one stop shopping centre when I go.

Others have shared info about parking terms and opening times to park.

i get the ‘official’ parking time only allows until 8pm which should rule out parking for the speedway.

however if a 4 hour parking is allowed ( as stated on the signs) then what is to stop anyone going to the Asda at 6 or 7 (to get an official receipt) and parking till end of the match?

As others have pointed out KFC is open after 8pm and the Gym is 24 hrs so people WILL park there officially after 8pm.

Personally I see no issue with parking at 6.30 or 7pm, shop for a receipt and then use the 4 hr free parking line if challenged.

i get that the club can’t and won’t promote the one stop as a parking place but as a customer (which you would be if you use the centre to purchase for a receipt) and more so if you get a KFC on the home after the match I can’t see how you would get a parking ticket that would be enforced.

So, as pointed out by a few 'posters' that know a thing or two about speedway....

Are B'ham gong to make an obvious change at reserve and bring in Kerr/Sedgemen for VUOLAS ?

Need to show some intention if they want the fans to attend! (p.s apart from the obvious work needed on the track...think that ship's sailed...) can only assume that as its the last season, then no expense will be spent on the track's surface?

It’s a couple of meetings in you can’t be axing people already surely? Git to give him a bit more time to settle in to the season. He showed good promise for both Workington and Belle Vue last year. Still very early days.

Not saying he's not got potential, but if there are better/stronger options, then NOW is the time and the time is always NOW!

Guess we all would do things differently!

Probably waiting until MJJ clears off?

Vuolas is a rider with potential but he's at the wrong club at the wrong time imo.

Birmingham fans are sick of losing at Home and patience is thin, The fans need experienced riders who are ready to do a job now just to get a few wins at Perry Barr.

Riders who've got potential to become a good rider in the future are a good fit for top end clubs because they've got the firepower to still win meetings on a regular basis.

Tate Zischke at Belle Vue being a prime example of that.

Then they shouldn’t have signed him in the first place! They did, so they SHOULD persevere with him and at least give him half a chance!

Agree, Think most fans were puzzled at the time as well.

Antti Vuolas situation is similar to Keynan Rew's when he first came to the UK, Ipswich had to be patient and wait a year to get any return on the investment.

Antti Vuolas will get better with more experience, Just a case of whether Birmingham are willing to be patient and if they're not then like you've just said, They shouldn't have signed him in the first place.

BV & Worky tracks are very similar, very "European". His home vs away average for Worky was 8.77 vs 4.58

Pick the bones out of that 🤔

Thought you couldn't make changes until 25% of your league matches are complete, accept for long term injury.Maybe wrong,i will leave that to someone who can be bothered to read up on the rule book.

That definitely WAS the case, but I’m not sure of this years rules.

Speaking as someone who unfortunately has some experience with parking issues, I was recently hit for 3x £60 'illegal parking excesses" - when I was parked in areas / spaces I visit regularly - and / or had correctly registered to park there, I challenged the 'notices' & the fines were correctly cancelled (tip for the day: keep / print / save such permission replies).  Stating the obvious: if there is a fone no. or website on such notices, & there should be, call it or msg them for info advice / info, or ask in the shop, staff & customers, could save a lot of possible hassle later, can't be too sure.  Hope this helps....
