So Birmingham end there time at Perry Barr with a league match against Leicester in august, no farewell nothing, just like wolves did, no sentiment and it’s piss poor but do we expect anything else these days

I can’t believe they are making absolutely no effort with a farewell.

As sad as it may be, if the stadium is closing/the lease is ending on a certain date, the club may not have any choice in the matter.

What about if they'd made it to the pay offs?

They don’t want another months rent, unless a rain off where they will have too

If its true that they have to be out by the end of August then they can't fit another meeting in plus the planning permission only allows one meeting per week

They don’t have to be out, it’s just another months rent, it tells you in their press release, the last meeting is 25th against Leicester but this may change if they have to rearrange a rain off

Wolves had the final meeting of the Olympique with a big send off from Porkie, CVS and PA. Traditionally the last meeting of the season and a fitting finale.
Huge sentiment to anyone that was there so not sure how you are comparing the 2.

I can understand your frustration. However any form of final meeting comes with a massive cost, All riders involved would have to be paid by the promotion then you have the problem of attracting the best riders to bring in the crowd. it's a tough choice but Birmingham speedway has lost enough money all due respect to the promotion but even they have to admit it's just a bridge to far to host a farewell even.

I do wonder if this is a missed opportunity to actually make a profit for once.  A Birmingham versus Wolverhampton or Coventry could be a great crowd puller   Many neutral fans will also attend a final meeting too. Newcastle wolves and Peterborough all had massive crowds for their finale.  Peterborough individual had a quite uninspiring line up and the place was packed.

They can’t possibly claim they can’t run an extra meeting because of costs when the reason given for the club ending is down to the stadium?

Does that mean had the stadium been available in 2026 Birmingham would have continued or is the stadium issue just a smokescreen for the fact Tolley can’t run a bath let alone a speedway club.

From what I am led to believe despite the site earmarked for housing the stadium would be available next season as like most building projects nothing happens over night but being the single occupancy the rent would be treble what is it now, now that sounds ok if you had unlimited use of the stadium to do what ever you want whenever you want but that isn’t the case, which I believe is a cunning way for the council to say yes we want speedway and we offered you the stadium but you chose to leave as you said it’s unviable when in reality they have made it unviable deliberately
