StevePark
Taken off Sheffield's Facebook page: REQUEST TO SUPPORTERS Thursday night is our opening fixture of the 2025 season. We know it has been a tough week for all connected to the club, but we politely request that supporters do not approach riders and ask any questions regarding Tai Woffinden. Your Tigers’ representatives are individually and collectively focussed on the task in hand, ready to go, and would appreciate no distractions. As ever they will be going out there and giving it their all to earn victory - so let’s cheer the boys on loud and proud from the terraces and give them another night, and season, of outstanding support in both volume and numbers!

Birmingham are difficult to work out because they either get battered in one sided meetings or they take teams to last heat deciders. I find Birmingham very difficult to predict, a fair few times last year I predicted decent performances when they had Nicholls guesting or had a strong reserve only for them to be awful. So now even if they look strong, I just expect them to lose.

If Sheffield had a couple of KO Cup meetings under their belt then I would've said Sheffield all day long as they're a much better team than Birmingham. It's just these early season meetings can be a bit of a lottery sometimes with left field results due to some riders having a few last minute issues that need sorting out. From what I can recall I think only Chris Holder has taken part in a challenge match in the UK so far this season (Peter Craven Memorial) so Birmingham should be sharper despite being the inferior team. I hope Sheffield win for Tai though. EDIT Anders Rowe took part in NKI's Testimonial. Edited April 3 by TTT

I remember last season when they were losing at Home regularly to the weaker sides in the league, Yet they were taking the better sides in the league (Belle Vue and Sheffield) to last Heat deciders. And they've continued in the same manner this season in the KO Cup, Battered by Leicester at Home and then they more than likely would've won at Leicester if it wasn't for Zagar's late bike issues that made him miss Heats 13 & 15. Birmingham are consistently in-consistent and it really is all on the day with them. Edited April 3 by TTT

I'm not saying they won many....but they were all fairly close score-lines.

Oxford was another one but yeah battered was a harsh word to use.
