From a Bears point of view they threw it away, couple of engine issues and points dropped from scoring positions. 12 heat winners and still losing is quite something. 
 

Mulford and Edwards have to contribute more if the Bears want to do anything away from home.

Scorpions were pretty solid and Declan Kennedy looked good.

I get your point, but 2 points away defeats are very useful when all the trophies are decided by aggregate victories.

I thought Scunthorpe would be a good home team so before the match, would have settled for a 2 point loss (and a 4 points home win). But having 12 race wins, will no doubt feel like an opportunity lost for the Bears.

Don't expect Workington to do any better away from home, so think it's advantage Bears in the BSN group.

Very enjoyable first trip Scunthorpe. Great racing, 100x better than what I've been watching at Leicester and the meeting was run superbly well. I will be back. 👍

Dusty as #### today but we prefer evening time racing as the track takes the water better... glad you enjoyed it

I thought the track held up well. I can't remember the last time I saw a meeting and the track maintenance didn't happen until after heat 7. The speed the meeting played out at was the best I've been to in a long time. Racing was good and if it's all better than that in the evening then I'll come all season. I was going to be a regular at Lynn as I'm about an hour from each of you. Great value for money with a basic race card. You have a new fan.

I did go in the end as the BSN meeting was called off and I'm pretty glad I did tbh. Like @Mr Bee said the meeting was run at decent pace, which was refreshing. Can't help but think that Redcar threw this away with all their mechanical shenanigans. What on earth Mulford was doing changing his bike for a 2nd time with the clock at about 10 seconds was a bit of a head scratcher. 

The junior match was pretty decent too, certainly better than some of the crap I've seen at Leicester! Although there was quite a disparity in the quality of riders. Correct me if I'm wrong but are Ablitt and McGurk not riding CL at the moment? Ideal candidates for a CL rising star berth... if it existed. 

Cooper Rushen was impressive, especially considering it was his 2nd meeting of the day... he certainly has the name to be a top star in Speedway!

Tbf Ablitt was offered a place at Berwick but too far to travel apparently and has similar average to Hagon in this league.

Seems strange that Berwick in the CL is too far but Scuntfield in the NL isn't. Maybe he's waiting to pick up a CL team spot later when somebody inevitably gets injured?

200 miles and another 3 and a half hours drive probably not worth his while.

But they won't always be racing a team with reserves as good as Scunthorpe's.  Should be stronger than Glasgow's reserves, but could be the second weakest reserve pairing.

There's a real mixture this year, some teams with 2 good reserves, some 1 & some none.

It's certainly a test of commitment isn't it... can't be easy for any southern based (younger) riders with only 2 Southern clubs in the CL to make it pay or not suffer substantial losses.

Amidst all the gushing about my trip to Scunny yesterday I almost forgot to mention what a complete shambles the presentation was... first of all there was a new centre green announcer who was given the big introduction by Rob Godfrey of "I'm sure he'll make some mistakes so bear with him", just the boost I'm sure he was looking for!

Then we were treated to said Presenter being inaudible throughout the whole meeting with his mic continually cutting out. And the TV Tunes of the 80's race build up music often being played during racing, in fact the music during the whole meeting was being played at such a distotedly high volume that it probably blew the windows out of houses several miles away!

Was done at the request of those stood near you so they couldn't hear your constant whining.

The tannoy system is far from perfect, some of the speakers seem to be better than others, depends where you stand. The wind seems to effect the mic, surely this is a problem that can be solved.
