Oxford vs Berwick - Championship - 9/7

Recommended Posts

Thoughts on this one? Berwick have a few riders with plenty of Oxford experience, but the Cheetahs looking far stronger at reserve. Zach Cook guesting for Jordan Jenkins and rider replacement for poor Danyon Hume.

Oxford: 1. Sam Masters, 2 Jonas Knudsen, 3 Zach Cook (G), 4. Mitchell McDiarmid, 5. Cameron Heeps, 6. Francis Gusts, 7. Luke KIlleen
Berwick: 1. Craig Cook, 2. Sam Hagon, 3. R/R, 4. Drew Kemp, 5. Peter KIidemand, 6. Dayle Wood, 7. Jack Smith

Hmm Kildemand, now where have I seen him before?

That guy Berwick have got at number 1, is Kyle Howarth on standby?

And who's the new guy Oxford have at no 2, can anyone tell me about him, don't recall seeing him before?

There was some decent racing but that was a tough watch from a Berwick perspective.

Very tough from the first heat when Cookie made a pig's ear of bend 2 then Smith not getting off the start line in heat Z2

Think Berwick fans will just have too enjoy the home meetings ,which have been good entertainment and what looks like decent attendances this season .Think most fans can see the Team problems.

Still have speedway which is the most important thing.

Ht 2 Jack Smiths engine blew up. I don't mean stopped..... The con rod snapped & tried to escape via the carburettor leaving a big hole before sending the piston into the cylinder head. All up an expensive night £5K for a new engine & no points to pay for it

Having taken this one in live I must say despite the scoreline being the same as our trip to Poole this was a much better battling performance against a strong Oxford team and with the Bandits missing Danyon who’s points on the track and his captaincy were sorely missed.

Mr Kildemand was superb and well backed up by Cookie despite his illness and Drewski, special mention to Jack Smith who after being our match winner on Saturday blew an engine by the sounds of it, poor lad only ever seems to have bad luck and he’s been such a bright spot since replacing Bastian.

Onwards and upwards, we are in the playoffs and hopefully if we can replace Danyon with someone of equal strength (Impossible maybe?) then we can make that 4th place in the league our own.

"we are in the playoffs" really, that's new to me lol!

I'm guessing you mean Berwick are currently in a top 4 position?

"if we can replace Danyon with someone of equal strength" Berwick are well below the limit, should be desperately looking to sign a stronger rider than Hume.
