  1. Holding it at one extreme or the other of the country isn’t the answer, especially on a Wednesday. What exactly is the point in having a national and central stadium if not for exactly these occasions.
  2. As has already been said. Berwick have track covers and they have been used. I might be miss remembering but they didn’t work very well at Berwick due to the banked corners.
  3. Events like these should be at Belle Vue imo. Not only is it just about the most central, it’s supposed to be the “National Speedway Stadium”
  4. There has been a big step forward. Something has just clicked this year. The social media side, the racing. Interaction between crowd and riders, the chance of actually winning something. It’s a pleasure to watch and be part of. We are all so quick to criticise but credit where it’s due, and it is due. Well done to all at Berwick. And it’s not done yet.
  5. Brilliant news. Reid isn’t just performing on the bike there are new fans turning up just to see him. And that’s exactly what we need. Does the business on track and makes a huge effort with people. Something has just changed this year the atmosphere in the ground has been incredible. Part of that is home wins part of it is the rider interaction with the paying punters. I do truly believe that Reid, fresh faced and doggedly determined to ride to the best of his ability is a huge part of that. Well spotted Dick.
  6. Well done to Harry Fletcher on his debut tonight. Wasn’t a million miles off the pace, Berwick can be daunting on a first visit. Bit more experience and the lads going to be a good rider.
  7. Probably depends on what the team building rules are. I think Glasgow could be after Morris but most teams will be as his average is still lower than his actual level. Morris has guested for Glasgow and cami Brown was sitting front row at Berwick just after that. Speculation in the crowd was he was after Battye but Reid has confirmed he is staying at Berwick. So Morris is the most likely target. Having said that Cami may have just fancied an evening at the speedway as a spectator.
  8. I’d love to see Leon back in bandits colours but I suspect Glasgow will be desperate to retain him especially if howarth isn’t back. I have a completely unfounded suspicion kemp could be back. I think next years team should be started by retaining the 3 Aussies. Reid has already confirmed he is staying, I think Jye will be happy to stay, no idea what Nick will do but fingers crossed he stays. Victor has been very hit and miss. Great when he gates, doesn’t look like he can overtake if he doesn’t.
  9. So we have the first leg of koc at home. Disappointed is an understatement.
  10. I can’t speak to the rest of it but the crowd numbers at Berwick have looked to be a lot better than last year and very consistent, it’s been busy and a great atmosphere all year. The Berwick social media team have been doing a good job and it really helps that we have been unbeaten at home so far. And have made it to the latter stages of two competitions. I’ve absolutely 0 knowledge of the financial situation of the bandits but the attendance has been good and most in the crowd seem pretty upbeat and positive.
  11. Reid had a full seven rides tonight. Jye would have been a better T/S than Victor though.
  12. Well they certainly saved points money with those guests.
  13. I agree that in the current situation a guest is probably a better bet than R/R but I find it very hard to believe Killeen was the only or best option.
  14. Killeen in for PK tonight. Seems an odd decision. He didn’t score a single point on his last visit. He isn’t a heat leader never mind a number one. I know the playoffs are gone but it would still be good to keep the home record. There’s only one other meeting today, hard to imagine he was the only option.
  15. Redcar are racing at Berwick. And it’s only a very short section of the A66 that’s closed.
