That can’t be real ….. the current world number 2 being overtaken by Emil and then the current world number 4 also being overtaken

But your honour I was told Ipswich was a track you couldn’t pass on especially riders as good as Kurtz and Bewley

I think you should take this video off because how can the Belle Vue fans stick to their agenda that every meeting should be at the NSS

There has even been a Sheffield fan complaining lol .. a track that has one line that even the home team don’t like lol

Yes thought that was a bit rich!

Does that really constitute a pass?

We get it Belle Vue fans we do know your track is the best in the uk

Its just so boring when you remark about every track not being as good

There was some good racing last night

Unfortunately you are spoilt with your track but your riders can’t adapt

I'm no Belle Vue fan but, to be fair, nobody brings it up more than you! And a pretty poor choice of video to highlight passing last night.

Weird how the argument has developed, we've even had some fans suggesting there's too much passing at Belle Vue lol

I would agree that not much passing happened last night or even the meeting before because the track has rode differently recently, but before that, you can't blame the track. When Ipswich have been behind we find away around the outside or inside to get past. It's no fluke that we win buy a good margin at home often, it's also not our fault other teams can't ride our track and make a spectacle of the meeting. We came to Belle Vue and took it to your riders, half the other clubs haven't done that at NSS. Maybe just understand we have a well rounded team who are dialled in at Foxhall and can race other tracks as well, it's not just about being dialled in at home, as you've found out twice this season already. Last night was about 3k crowd. When you think the whole stadium max is about 10k + then it was for sure about a third full.

Debates on here often thrash about with a degree of parochial mediocrity so that  now passes on lap 1 apparently don’t count and FTG now incorporates everything that occurs on lap 1!

we then have people who were not there suggesting they know the crowd figures!

there are three things you can guarantee you will see when Gavan has posted, either the Belle Vue track, how under appreciated Danny King is, or it will be a reply to Shovlar who he follows around like a puppy.

In Prague under last years system Kurtz wouldn’t of qualified for semi final as he finished 9th on 7 points but did under this years system(10 qualifying) Kurtz is where he is on merit but was helped by the system change in Prague

That's incorrect Dean, last year in Prague he would of not made the semi final finishing 9th  (as you say) so he would have picked up 8 SGP points.  This year he made the semi final as ninth qualifier, fell off while leading, so was classified finishing 10th and got 7 SGP points.  So in fact under the new system Kurtz is 1 point worse off.

Last years system is irrelevant the new system was put into place so this season its all about the current rule, which is there for all.

He's wrong anyway under last years system Brady would be 1 point better off.

Passes on Bends 1 or 2 on lap 1 for me are FTG, not passes.  Anything after Bend 2 can be classed as a pass.  That said there can be still some great races that are FTG.

Better result than I expected, Aces will finish 4th, lets see what the playoffs bring, but as Phil the Ace says, Brady could be 1 meeting away from being World Champion, and i don't care who you are, you are going to ride to protect that.

You see I disagree here the moment someone comes off their gate line and secure  the pass it’s a pass

so off gate 4 you cut back at the apex of bend 1-2 and secure a pass that’s no longer FTG!!

Oh they have, I remember laughing at it, not on this post admittedly but like I said, this argument has dragged on for some time and I’m certainly not trawling through the forum to find it!

I think that the bloke on the kerb from gate one is moving off the inside due to his momentum from that start position, thus allowing the gate four bloke the opportunity to undertake him, all due to the gates they started on. We will have to disagree on this one but I respect your opinion.

Not a problem - as I say / see it the moment you leave your gating line then it’s no longer FTG

one of the best moves last night was when Brennan gated alongside Bewley  he managed to just get a fraction ahead and the  clamp him to the kerb into 1st / 2nd bend and that allowed King round the outside off bend 2 - to me a comment of ‘FTG’ doesn’t do justice to the move and the fact King blasted round everyone and by the exit of bend 2 was away and gone for the win!!

I have never considered passes off Bend 2 as actual overtakes - they're part of the opening of the race unwinding. I appreciate that it's subjective.

As for crowd figures ... nobody knows them. Again, any estimates are not only guesses, they are also subjective - ask 10 Ipswich fans and they'll have different ideas.  What BV fans consider to be a good attendance at the NSS will also vary.

Whilst this is very true there are enough of us who are subjective and don't just wildly make something up - But what we can do is work with what we know!

For example the back straight grandstand holds 1500 the little grandstand holds 250? - the home straight one was full and the back straight one was 2/3 to 3/4 full in my view so even if we said 2/3 full thats 1,000 in there - so that's 1,250 before we've even started on the terraces.

I've been to the NSS and the day I went it was very well attended (Aug BH in 20204) the crowd i think was 2000+ easy as the grandstand holds 1800?? and the back straight can accomodate about 1k to 1.5k? the grandstad was again about 3/4 maybe more full so thats about 1350 with 750 or more in the back straight.so thats how i build these figures up, as you say its subjective but i like to think based on reality!

What i can say is in 4 visits to Foxahll in 2025 last night was the best attendance by some way!

They haven’t, Paul. It’s been said that a lot of the passes at the NSS are “unimpressive” and can be spotted a mile off, but I’ve never seen anyone here say that there are “too many passes at the NSS”. You’re completely making that up.
