eide67
Will Monarchs get the 1 point the need to guarantee a place in the play-offs? They'll have to be at their very best to do it against a very strong Glasgow side. Jacob Hook guests for Villads Nagel and I must say it's very pleasing to see Jacob showing some real signs of progress this season. Friday 22nd August: Edinburgh Monarchs v Glasgow Tigers (Championship), Armadale, 7:30pm STELLAR MONARCHS: Victor Palovaara, Paco Castagna (Capt.), Justin Sedgmen, Michael Palm Toft, Kye Thomson, Jonatan Grahn, Jordy Loftus. ALLIED VEHICLES TIGERS: Chris Harris (Capt.), Jacob Hook (Guest), Dan Thompson, Leon Flint, Kyle Howarth, Freddy Hodder, Max Perry. Weeyin
Should be a cracking match, can't call it but hoping for a Tigers win
King Jamie
Easy win for a Tiggers team strengthened by the absence of David Nagel's Scandinavian. We'll be done over Hook, line and sinker. Our collective bunch of third heat leaders will have no answer and will be lucky to score 40. Can't wait... Mr Blobby
The inevitable heats 13/15 usual from us. Could see that coming a mile off.
TracksideView
Some good racing tonight from both teams, and a last heat decider to finish off another terrific Scottish Derby. Glasgow showing a bit of grit to pull through a chaotic night , Edinburgh pushed all the way. Fair play to both teams for an entertaining night of speedway.
SharpenRake
Glad to see that on the British Speedway Web site (Official Referee scorecard) that Freddy was awarded 3rd place when he passed Hook on the line. On updates it shows Hook as being third. With poor Max getting injured - he wasn't excluded as suggested on updates - it was a great performance from the 5 remaining tigers. A shame that guest Jacob Hook failed to score but no2 is a difficult position. Looking forward to tomorrow's meeting at Workington where it will probably be tight like many of our away meetings. Can the Tigers win again? cyclone
Glasgow when they track their full seven, imo are the best team in the CL & if Nagel had been available, they would probably have added to their winning margin, given his guest replacement, Jacob Hook, did not score a point from his four rides. Howarth's scoring from no.5 is impressive, especially when matches go down to the wire & the Harris/Howarth combination usually deliver the coup de grace in heats 13 & 15. For Monarchs a key factor in their recent decline in performance is that Victor Palovaara is still trying to recover from pneumonia which apparently has absolutely done him in. In hindsight it might have been better to have given him more time to fully recover. One positive I took from tonight's match, was MPT's best ride at the Dale since joining us, in heat 14 where he stalked Flint until the last bend & burst through on the inside to take the win. JanAndersen
Can someone explain to me the transponder placement? I know they exist but have no understanding of them at all. Presumably they’re not on the front wheel so how can they tell who crossed the line first?

The transponder device placement in the track is 1/2 dia of front wheel back from finish line. The transponder on the bike is on the top of the front forks.
