a4poster
What are peoples views on the Sprint Races? Do you think they will be dropped in 2026 or expanded to feature at more Grand Prixs? * From a personal point of view. I see little point in them unless you could incorporate them in some form into the main meeting on the day itself.
PersonalResponsibility
Personally, I don't see the point of them. I'm not bothered about the points they can add or anything, I just don't really think they add anything in the current format. We went to the one in Wroclaw and it was just 30mins of a pair of riders going around followed by one race. Aside from a quick flash of the times now and again, there was no build up towards anything. It wasn't bad but I wouldn't rush back. Also, does qualifying really matter in speedway? I know some tracks will have their gate bias, but it's not like you're starting 15m behind, you're still getting 5 rides the same as everyone else. IainB
The Sprint Races were only brought in to make the qualifying session watchable, which was fair enough imo because if there's Speedway on the Tv I'm going to watch it. The trouble is that the broadcast is that poorly put together it's barely worth watching and to just a sprinkling of people watching it live at the stadium is just embarassing! bruno
Would the sprints be better if both riders started opposite each other on the straights and shown on a split screen like they do with cycling

The time starts when they close the pit gate! Come on! The camera is often on the wrong rider, with each rider seemingly just being shown for 15 seconds each before the camera cuts to the guy holding the red flag, it's so TV by numbers it's laughable. The clock showing how long is left in the session is unreadable. If they are going to do it they should at least attempt to do it properly and put some thought into it. RacerToft
A rider should also be allowed to finish his lap when the time stops.
